Weather sites update:

Weather.com - generally dry except rain very early Weds morning and rain Thurs morning til midday.

BBC - Dry and sunny all weekend.

Met office - Only showing Weds, dry. Partial cloud and sun.

Metcheck - dry and sunny except light rain Thurs morning and potentially on Friday.

Worldweatheronline - all dry and sunny except potential of some rain Sat eve.

Wunderground - mixed picture. Potential rain on Thurs morning and Fri afternoon and Sat morning.

Accuweather - bit of a wet picture but nothing too heavy.

So generally we are looking at a dry Weds and rain Thurs morning at the moment. Rest of the weekend too early to tell but generally no amount of rain is being predicted that will cause major mud. Something akin to last year it seems.

If the worst of it is like last year, i'll take it in a heart beat. Other than the rain making Mary J Blige's set wonderfully dramatic, the weather was beautiful. Not even too cold at night.

How was it for those of us that weren't there?

Friday night to Saturday morning was particularly terrible and grim.

The mud lasted until Sunday afternoon before it started turning into a clay like bog.

Not great, but you'd definitely want to twist if it were a card game.

I've just done a whole report and then my screen refreshed and it all went, so just a summary :-(

Rain today and tomorrow. Clearing over the weekend, but more rain on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday likely to be dry and then showers on Thu, Fri and Sat. Dry on Sunday. Not a wash out, but occasional showers.

Best forecast (as in driest) of the reliable sites is at TheWeatherOutlook.

Another long time lurker here.. I've learned a lot about weather from this thread!

With these two fronts fighting for control it really seems like we're not going to be able to predict what's going to happen over the festival even by next tues/weds.

Can I stop reading this thread now?  Probably.  But instead I think I'll just refresh it every 5 minutes instead.

Plenty of time for that to dry up!  Remember, back in 2005 we had rivers through the site on Friday but by the sunday it had all hardened up and was much more pleasant.  Doesn't take much to dry out mud like this.

    • Reading seems to have sold really well this year from the posts they've made re. tickets. I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon, I think for the vast majority in here (myself included) it just doesn't cater to us. That said, if I was still under the age of 18 I'd be thrilled with the Reading lineup this year (not so much Leeds).
