What do we reckon?

 

Early forecasts are looking pretty good, but is it too early to be looking? I guess a lot can change.

 

I'm confident.

 

Post any good forecasts you find. Only good ones though

The island has its own mini climate that always seems to be better than the mainland. Sun sun sun!

One week away you can start getting fairly confident. Id say we aren't going to get drenched - and that's enough for me!

Having been in 2012 and (i think) 2009 I've only known sunshine at Bestival, so I'm convinced it'll be the same. Reckon it's looking positive so far...

yep the two years i went (2011 and 2012) i remember getting burnt to smithereens, so i expect the exact same this year - anything less would be a disappointment (although i'd probably take just no rain)

I went in 2008 - less said the better (that was the last time Underworld played too!).

 

BBC currently showing 19 odd every day and white cloud. Perfect.

I've been every year since 06 and must admit we have been pretty lucky, apart from that one year.

 

I only live round the corner from the site and it's beautiful today.

BBC now showing light rain on the Friday and hail on Saturday. Fucking hail?!

 

Other websites show the complete opposite so just go prepared and hope for the best.

I don't trust BBC. They gave hail and heavy rain for Leeds last week and it only rained for 5 mins the whole weekend until the Monday.

Yeah BBC is pretty poor. It is often completely wrong the day before.

Looking a bit grim for the weekend now. Heavy Showers for the Saturday and Sunday.

 

Thursday and Friday look perfect though

yep Saturday and Sunday are looking shite right now - hopefully that'll change in the next few days. typical that the first year i return to Bestival would be the one when the weather goes to pot

Saturday and Sunday currently look very changeable to me -  I think it could go either way.

 

BBC forecast is still the worst, although they have already downgraded Saturday to just  the odd light shower.

 

At least we will have good weather for setting up camp on the Thursday

all 3 sites I've looked at (iPhone, BBC, weather.com) all have different forecasts! i think we're pretty safe to say it'll rain at some point Saturday/Sunday, as long as it's only showers I can live with that

From what I've seen, it appears: Dry/some sun: Thurs and Fri; Showers: Sat and Sun.

wellies sure do suck, and i hope to wear them as little as possible this weekend, but damn would i be fucked without them if any amount of rain/mud were to appear. just must remember to look after my feet better - they were torn to absolute shreds and i could barely walk after Glastonbury

Don't quote me on this, but whenever I've been and there have been showers, the ground dries up very quickly afterwards, and the site doesn't even begin to turn to mush.  I've never needed wellies at Bestival, unlike Glastonbury and Download.

 

I know 2008 was a mudbath, but I believe the drainage was given a major upgrade after that happened.

Very happy with the forecast now. Looking like the odd shower Friday night/Sat Morn and a couple on Sunday/ I can definitely live with that. Looks like any showers will be fleeting, nothing to worry about.
