Ryanair and tents

I'm off to Sziget tomorrow, although I am flying with Norweigan Air, I've managed to fit my tent inside my rucksack. I was thinking of plastic wrapping it then to make sure none of the buckles/straps get caught in the baggage system.

Are you able to fit the tent inside the rucksack? Mine takes up about half the inside space but I only need toiletries and clothing so am fine.

Another Sziget goer, and another Norweigan Air flyer here - Last year I attached my tent to my bag very firmly with straps and stuff, and then checked it in as my one bit of hold luggage. It wouldn't go on the converyor belt so they took it on a trolley which they usually use for like, chellos and other weird shaped luggage and it was fine.

Not sure if Ryanair will be as accommodating though!

I might not bother with the plastic wrap then, I'll ask them and see what they think.  Ive got nothing attached to the outside of the bag so will just tie up the straps and see how it goes :D
