We were on Pennards Hill, about 100ft up from the flooding at the bottom. It was crazy. The worst storm I have ever been in. The thunder was shaking the ground, non-stop for hours and hours. We were literally under the storm cloud. Amazing.

every clap of thunder and everyone was cheering then all hell broke loose I was sleeping in the middle of a 4 man tent only to be woken up by a river of water flowing down my back.

*That's one of the frequently used phrases I see on my facebook

Ha! Yeah or some kind of vague status about being upset baiting people to ask what they're so upset about.

Not to dishearten people too much, but tragically looking at this thread last year, even days after the 18th May secret sale, they were tinkering with the coach pages. People were getting very excited, to no avail. So even changes now mean nothing really.

What happened the year before that?   Last year I believe was the only time recently there wasn't a separate coach secret sale.

2005. Friday morning from about 6am. The rain was biblical and Pennards flooded at the bottom. That was the worst in my time.

Apologies, I was indeed talking about 2005.

I love all these stories from back in the day. It conjures images of festival goers with PTSD having 'nam flashbacks.

Yes indeed it was 2005 and a storm like no other, remember watching it after 2 days of hot sun then it unleashed on the Friday morning. Apart from localised flooding and a lake at bottom of Pennards it was an amazing atmosphere and the rest of weekend was great. :D

Now 2007 was a different story, weeks of wet weather prior to the start and non-stop rain all weekend of the festival and it was misery by Monday morning :(

You guys are doing a great job of putting me off :D

The past few Glastonbury's have been fairly benign and I reckon we could be due either a really good one or really bad one, not that it matters to me as at this rate I shall be pitching my tent in the living room and my tv shall become pyramid stage MK2.
