they filled their places long ago but they have some 'late' places for ' experienced festival bar staff '

I cant give out the phone details as they will get pissed off but if you have previous festival bar experience send me a PM

Warning - - those places may be gone by now as ' they will go fast '

Thanks. Yes I was surprised that there were any places at this late stage! I have a ticket but if I was going to work a bar at Glastonbury, I'd be very happy if it was Avalon :)

Quality image, thanks for posting. I didn't realise it was over a mile from JPT to the Park! GPS walking app on my phone tells me it takes me 16 mins approx at normal pace to walk a mile over grassy land, so that's basically 20 mins or more in reality at Glastonbury.

Totally going to go overboard using this chart and clashfinder now :)

Congratulations on being the first to spot an error, that one looks to be out be about 400m,

Will try and revise this at some point over the weekend

I know all the ones who run Avalon as they used to be in the WBC - its the same deal except all earnings goes to Shelter.
Apply at the right time and its easy but they have certain deadlines and each year some people apply as a backup just in case they cant get tickets
Shelter has a waiting list for normal volunteers but they also have a waiting list for experienced festival bar staff and they have a few cancellations so they contacted me today offering me places but I will be back with the WBC so I passed on the details to some people I know who missed a wbc allocation and they are all well experienced.

20mins between Park and JPT? Uphill and in possible mud? <sceptical face> I see your good 20 mins and make it at least 40. More if you have your very soul sucked out between Silver Hayes and the Other.

20 mins is obviously going straight from A to B and not messing around.

Making any comment about it taking longer "in possible mud" is both pointless and just bloody obvious.

No need for pissiness. Even in amazing conditions and going straight from a to b I still contend that it will take most people a lot longer than 20 minutes.

I think you could do it in 20 minutes, but:

  1. You'd have to be on an absolute mission
  2. There would have to be no mud so you wouldn't be restricted to crowded walkways
  3. You'd have to be wearing blinkers, ear defenders and nose-plugs to prevent distractions

LOL :D funny cos it's true

I think it would be better for the 'times between stages' to be based on standardised Glastonbury wandering speed as the chances are that's how most people will be travelling.

I've made it from JP to West Holts in an obscenely short time, but I was 25 and running like a bastard... that's now a loooong journey by comparison only exacerbated by the chair-lake to the side of t'other these days. I reckon I'd actually go Jp->SH->Oxylers path->railway->tiny tea->west holts for speed these days.... maybe around the top of the pyramid and through big ground and william's green... I still debate running sometimes

It's not quite the same but in 2009 we ran from Avalon after British Sea Power and made it to JP for Doves first song. I'm not going to lie, I was dying when we got there, but we did it! According to clash finder there was 15 mins between the two, assuming though that Doves were a bit late on etc, maybe 20 mins?
