yes.

They're not.

full stage-by-stage line-up will come in May.

So are you expecting a similar lineup release sequence as last year, with the initial sort of vague poster April, then in May the stages poster, then June full times/all artists performing?

My mate has been massively underwhelmed compared to last year, and yet I have found loads more on this initial line up than I did in 2014, so it's horses for courses I guess. I think there is a certain amount of line up fatigue, it was his first festival last year and he had an amazing time, came back saying I was right to say it's not all about the music, now he's having a moan because he reckons it's as flat as still lemonade.

Yeah it's crazy people getting annoyed with this first announcement.

There are only 75 names on that poster (including the special guests) and the top 6 stages last year (including acoustic) had more than 120 acts.

Plus some acts on that poster may appear on stages outside those top 6.

Bucketloads still to come.

The next announcement might well have more surprises than this one seeing as quite a few this time around had been predicted

So much more about it than the names on that list, sheesh I'd be happy if they would just let me camp up on that hill and sit there for 5 days :beach:

I know this will have been covered but to save me trawling through the thread: is is 100% that Alt-J are subbing? If so, what day? And where are people expecting Caribou to play?

Interested in the Caribou slot too. Headlined the Park stage a few years ago and is one of my favourite Glastonbury sets.

Since then they have had a pretty commercially successful album so might warrent a bigger stage slot out but can't see them going onto Other or Pyramid stage. Maybe headline or sub

on John Peel? Although is that an upgrade on The Park?

So today I heard a lot of "I like it.. But I was expecting something bigger"

I don't quite get it, I'm pretty sure glastonburys got a good scoop of all the best acts touring this summer. So it begs the question? What do they expect? Or is it more of a hype thing? They hear Glastonbury and expect massive and that means they are always underwhelmed?

So many questions

Is this certain? As almost all info you've had so far has been incorrect.

Neil may have had a couple of incorrect pieces of info given to him in the month since you have joined, but my understanding is that his track record has been pretty impeccable over the 15 years or so that he has run this website.

It's what I was told by a senior Glasto person, who'd very definitely know the score with the headliner booking and contractual details. If he's decided to bullshit me - which he's never done before - then that's not my fault.

Assume it could it be earlier if the conflicting shows sold out?

My firs Glasto, if I compare this year's lineup with 2014, last year I found more favourite acts in the first poster (Interpol, Mogwai, Manic Street Preachers, Arcade Fire, Kasabian, the Black Keys, Robert Plant, Lily Allen, Pixies, Massive Attack, M.i.a., De La Soul, Kasabian, Arcade Fire, Brian Ferry) than this year. But who cares? I have at least 20 acts I'd like to see, and others I don't know so I'm going to study their discography from now on. ;-)

yep, perhaps.

Tho it might be a pride thing with the competing promoter, who could possibly insist it wasn't announced even then, and that whatever date has been agreed is stuck to.

Essentially, there's no way of knowing how it might be played, because we don't know what factors are of importance to the people involved.
