How many areas are left? seems like we've had quite a few now :)

arcadia and williams green are the only ones that spring to mind

pyramid/other/west holts/JP and acpustic are part of the main poster imo so wont get seperate line ups(but im guessing here...)

Assume the big five will be held back, so what else is there? Arcadia, Acoustic, Shangri-la, Williams Green, Glastonbury Free University...

I know it wasnt a full relase but i think Williams green have already had there turn with their updated page on Glasto site.

Two press releases today...Voyuers and Gengahr both confirmed, announcement has got to be so, so close

Gengahr is brilliant news, got an advanced copy of their album and it's one of my favourites of the year, really good

Really looking forward to this album! I've seen them a few times supporting The Maccabees and they sounded great.

I believe Arcadia confirmed their line up will be out at the end of May. Discounting Friday, that gives them three nights. They've always announced separately to the Festival though, haven't they? I think that particular part of the site probably gives the least indication about what we might get on a larger level.

I must say this Glade Announcement has ramped up my excitement level as there are a good 10 acts I would like to see in that area alone.

The whole line up this year is good, just without the must see names.

So much I want to see, more than the previous 4 glastonbury's I have been to. (That is without the Pyramid, Other, Park, JP and WH) just not much that I am desparate to.

My to see list is on about 35 names already. I need to whittle that down when stage times come out

Summed my views up perfectly thankyou

Strength in depth this year, especially compared to my feelings last year

Going to be tough!

what do we actually think the reasoning behind the late announcement is?

to prove a point? embargo? struggled to make bookings with bands having other commitments?

to send us insane?

No reasoning at all - just because they can.................... and it is not really 'late'

Now where is the thingy?

Its not late at all. If anything we have more acts than previous years.

30th May 2013: Full lineup (barring BBC Introducing & Arcadia which came in June)

22 May 2014 - Full Line Up (64 stages)

4 June 2014 - Running times

Maybe because they still have some names to announce who have tickets to sell elsewhere? Keep people happy(ish) by releasing the smaller stages to bring us nicely up to 1st June when the contracts say that it can be released.

and yes, to drive us insane

and it's bound to be 1st June as I'm working a 13 hour day with no access to t'internet

In terms of the main 5/6 stages, we have significantly less than what we've had by early May the past 2 years.

So the 'main' lineup announcement is later than it has been the past few years.

There's all different ways of looking at it but I think the above is how most are seeing it.

I reckon we'll get a few more smaller announcements then hopefully the lot on Thursday night.

    • some point this week the insta post says
    • I guess we should also not underestimate that the Slowdive sound person is probably not quite used to open-air daytime performances in such a large, open area. 🙂 I imagine it's very different from mixing the sound in a tent. Plus, even though I was openminded about it at first - you never know how things might sound or work out in a different setting if you don't try - I just don't think their sound is very suited for this kind of setting, it really benefits from darkness and a nice light show and all that. Still, nice that they got to give it a try.
    • i agree, was really disappointed by the Slowdive sound (we were fairly close to the podium) also if you consider that for all other main stage acts i saw they got it perfectly right.
    • Thanks man for sharing your thoughts. I would say i generally agree with you and do agree people close to the podium should position themselves further back if they want to have full conversations and apparently are not interested in the music; to fair it is mind boggling these people are even there as chatting gets so much easier in the back field. That said i did not really have the same experience as you, front rows for example at MBV, Men I trust, Big Thief, NewDad, Slowdive, where really into the music.    yes i BBK is really high on our list but we just realized it is next year 25 years of Primavera so perhaps we do one more.
    • When does the Thursday lineup get announced? I see they had Moonchild Sanelly and Young Knives last year, would be cool to get something along those lines again.
