Why walk for free when you can spend thousands of 💵 and pollute the planet. You should know better 😂
sabre-toothed tart
Can I just say watching the Coachella live stream and seeing Lizzo perform I will survive / What makes you beautiful with Harry was a wonderful start to the weekend! You guys are going to think why people would be mad enough to stand in line for 2 hours to buy a t shirt but when its literally a whole store of wall to wall things, you want something. I did personally stand in line for about 90 mins early on saturday to get a few things, but thats my choice and i had the second weekend to see who i missed. Great write up. the merch line thing is insane to me, I saw people post pics of it on reddit. Think it sums up everything about Coachella that feels polar opposite to Glastonbury, and a reflection of the US culturally. Pure unbridled consumerism, makes me depressed thinking about it! Going to a music festival and spending 2 hours queuing to spend money on something to show you were there. Just horrid.

Deaf Nobby Burton
This is not a dig at Coachella, but after watching it all weekend last week I had no interest in watching it again this week. I know it would never happen for various reasons, but there had been hypothetical talk about having two Glastonbury weekends before, it’s definitely best if these things are just one offs if you ask me. Divein
Say what you about Coachella but that Skream Dubstep set looked a vibe. Would be incredible if he did that at Glastonbury.

It’s the first dubset set he’s played in years and years. Tweeted asking if he should do it and got an overwhelmingly positive response so did it. Ddiamondd
Was there this weekend (2 — which by all accounts is the better one) and it vastly exceeded expectations. As a Glasto regular since 2003, it would be up there with my fav 3 editions of the fest. Can post up a few thoughts / points of comparison if people are interested?

I'm more interested in the non-music stuff, the camping situation/food/talking to people etc etc

Will do the breakdown in a bit, just driving back to LAX (although sadly no Stonehenge on the way)
Ddiamondd
Although I’ll say this for starters — the music I saw would, for the most part, make a terrific time on the farm. The Weeknd, Turnstile, Caribou, Dave, Hot Chip, Japanese Breakfast, Doja Cat, Fred Again, Vince Staples, Arooj Aftab, Carly Rae Jepsen, DJ Koze, Jayda G, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, The Avalanches, Run The Jewels, Disclosure, Channel Tres, Idles, Rina Sawayama, Spiritualized, Jamie xx and Danny Elfman shredding The Simpsons theme with Wes Borland. Stick a cursory Supergrass in there, a few bimbles and one stretch in Block9 and you’ve got a 9/10 Glasto. And the crowds were all packed, engaged and jumping. Once you get on the ground, a lot of the negativity about Coachella is genuinely overcooked. It’s interesting how reality squares up to projection. Will follow up with more later on.
