This is how it's gonna go for the rest of the year:

  1. Gazza 'sprouts' some bullshit
  2. Someone/everyone else calls him out
  3. Gazza distances himself from his bullshit and reiterates that Nightwish and Korn are weak

If you change 3. to quits the forums then that's the efest story of Gazza, Thewayiam and his next 3 accounts.

Who are Nightwish ?? I honestly had never heard of them.  I had a listen on spotify and probably realised why I'd never listened to them.  Strange choice as a sub

Opera rock band. A bit more theatrical than Evanescence. Very popular with their own dedicated fans. Saw them on 2nd last time they played just before Slash. They were good. Headline-ish kind of performance and production and it was very busy. They seem to change the singer every 5 minutes. I've not listened to them since but will go see them if 2nd is crap.

A operatic metal band if we're going with opera. Why anyone would pass them off as a rock band god only knows.

How do we know Volbeat are definitely playing? I was under the impression they'd ditched their Download plans to do Bloodstock

We don't, but what's made you think that they're not? I would wager a lot of the Download Paris bands are gonna pop up at the UK festival because it's easier to settle a deal for both than pursue different artists and stuff.

I like the lineup from the poster though. Would suit me pretty well.

I thought that Public Enemy in that slot seemed fine as well.

I just don't buy The Darkness as big enough to headline second. Favourites or not.

They subbed main last time they played. (apart from secret set) That's a bigger gig. I fucking hate the Darkness, I think they are w*nk but Download doesn't.

    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
