Who are Nightwish ?? I honestly had never heard of them.  I had a listen on spotify and probably realised why I'd never listened to them.  Strange choice as a sub

Opera rock band. A bit more theatrical than Evanescence. Very popular with their own dedicated fans. Saw them on 2nd last time they played just before Slash. They were good. Headline-ish kind of performance and production and it was very busy. They seem to change the singer every 5 minutes. I've not listened to them since but will go see them if 2nd is crap.

We don't, but what's made you think that they're not? I would wager a lot of the Download Paris bands are gonna pop up at the UK festival because it's easier to settle a deal for both than pursue different artists and stuff.

I like the lineup from the poster though. Would suit me pretty well.

The Darkness are a Download favourite. You might want to check past line ups. They could easily play 2nd headliner. It might even be a step down.

I just don't buy The Darkness as big enough to headline second. Favourites or not.

They subbed main last time they played. (apart from secret set) That's a bigger gig. I fucking hate the Darkness, I think they are w*nk but Download doesn't.

That was also a reunion gig subbing a desperation headliner. 

No way they be booked to sub these days. Also no way would they booked to headline 2nd. I'd say they're now 4th main or sub 2nd
