Just saw AC's tweet saying that all three headliners are now booked. I know Lightning said that BMTH aren't headlining, but I'm choosing to ignore that in the blind hope that they have been given the push up  but I'm choosing to trust his Volbeat info at the same time.

Black Sabbath

Bullet For My Valentine

Stone Sour

The Darkness

All Time Low

Alexisonfire

Bring Me The Horizon

You Me At Six

Disturbed

Papa Roach

Volbeat

Lindemann

Iron Maiden

Deftones

Lamb Of God

Slayer

Limp Bizkit

Skindred

:D

Based on what? Them playing a festival the week after?

There's some other dates that are coming through for Sabbath but I don't think any are on DL weekend yet. I expect metalicbear to be right though as it's fully anticipated that they'll play Hellfest and that's gonna knock the chances of them doing Download France out.

This is from Ringrocker compiled from bits and pieces they've picked up about gigs so far:

THE END Final Tour 2016
08.06.2016, Berlin (DE), Waldbühne
15.06.2016, Zürich (CH), Hallenstadion
17.06.2016, Graspop Metal Festival (BE)
23.06.2016, Tons of Rock Festival (NO)
25.06.2016, Copenhell Festival (DK)
28.06.2016, Wien (AT), Stadthalle

Based on the fact that they don't appear to be playing back-to-back events. Which would mean they only have the Friday or Saturday free over Download weekend.

Which would mean they can only play 1 of Donington or Download France, or neither; bare in mind Download is also the same weekend as Nova Rock, Greenfield festival and Sweden Rock, they can't play all of them.

So because other festivals are going on that weekend? Grand. Sad thing is, you even know yourself that they won't be at the festivals you mentioned because you know they're doing stadiums in the countries of those events. You just want people to say "oh they might do Sonisphere then".

Dental don't feed him, he just wants that reaction. He knows and we know there isn't a chance on earth that they would have chosen Soni instead, nor with Maiden or any other band.

    • Yep, honestly this seems like the most likely option right now.
    • Agree. Also there was a lot more crossing over between stages. I know they need to put the cure, the xx and Gorillaz on the main stages but if they could have put your Blood Orange, Big Thief, Baxter Dury on Cupra and Occident with Jade and Pinkpantheress on the main stages, it would have been a massive improvement.
    • 100% THIS! I haven't quite been able to put my finger on it, but I think you've just nailed why I didn't enjoy this year as much as usual. In last years edition, the likes of Slowdive or Big Thief would have had evening slots at Cupra or Occident, instead of being shoved on to the main stages during the day. Apart from the very biggest acts (ie The Cure, the pop headliners), most performances at Mordor just lack that special "wow, I'm so lucky to be here" feeling that I remember from the Jesus Lizard and Anhoni sets that you've mentioned.  Sidenote: I wonder if there's a decent chunk of ticket holders that gravitate towards Mordor simply because it's the biggest stage, without really caring who's playing at that time, thus the increased (and incredibly noticeable) yapping.
    • Some horrible talkers around me as well for that one. Plus the mobile beer taps pressing through almost all the way to the front, which really should be illegal.
