Fucking ell, 5 down votes for pointing out the bleeding obvious. I stand corrected on my timing, a subsequent poster pointed out that it was not an hour before the 2005 storms that they were predicted, but 2 days. Let's take this as fact, this means that as of Wednesday it was looking glorious for the weekend. So the forecasts that you are basing your euphoria/despair on for this year will right now, in all likelyhood turn out to be complete and utter bollox.

Down vote the fuck out of that bitches.

STL.

Come on, you lot can do better that.

I've always gone for the poundland pacamac option, cheap, compact and keeps you dry, although you smell like a johnny factory.

I don't like taking a bag, so last year I had all sorts of shit hanging off my belt - jumper, poncho, water proof trousers - I was like a Primark Batman. Gotta get a better solution this year!

No, in all "likelyhood" they'll be right - it's very mixed at the moment, so the confidence level is going to be low, but whatever they forecast, it's more likely it'll be that than something else. That doesn't guarantee it'll be right, there's probably a 20% chance the forecasts will be totally wrong.

But for "all likelyhood" you'd need a 50% chance + of them being wrong. Which just isn't the case. Apologies for using words.

    • Yeah.   Revisit in 2 weeks, then 👀
    • Even with the recent heavy showers it's too early to tell what site conditions would have been like.  The very hot spell would have certainly dried things up considerably, and rain since then has been equalled by a stiff breeze so, without the benefit of actually walking the site, I'd guess ground conditions at present are about perfect.   If we had a festival to look forward to I think the weather watchers would have been at the "all to play for" stage at present.
    • Hush cancelled with a similar event now taking place at EartH and Cate Le Bon doing her own show, maybe others have rearranged gigs?
    • Yeah I find it strange, if they were just a silly act then they wouldn't be headlining the 3rd stage. The likes of vengaboys yes but they aren't doing their own sizeable arena dates.  That looks very weak for what they could actually get, but GC aren't playing 3rd main stage with The 02 and the Coop arena and in a same slot that KSE are. MIW aren't carrying those two dates either, neither are Turnstile and Parkway Drive tickets didn't play out. You gotta do better than Ghost, Blink and Deftones though.    I think you are a bit even if that is not the intention. I'm genuinely shocked they booked them for the avalanche and I think it'll be rammed out of the tent. While ADTR will obviously get a lot too, many Download attendees will had the chance to see them at Slam Dunk. I think 90s fest getting Scooter was class and while there would have been some Download crossover, the Slam Dunk crossover given acts you get on the avalanche will be a different level.
