Lineup 2016

Slipknot are getting a lot more radio time etc, but I doubt they'll ever headline RandL.

If Soni comes back next year, they'll snap them up ( like they did in 2011 after they headlined download for the first time in 09) if they come back to the UK at all next year. On this album theyve already done one American and one European tour, and later this year they're coming back to Europe then embarking on another big US tour. So that'll nearly be two world tours, off of one album. I seriously doubt they'll tour this album, this extensively, for 2 1/2 - three years.

I can imagine after this year, now they have a full 9 piece back, they'll write another album, then come back in 2017 with a new album, and headline Download. Again. And also, don't forget about Stone Sour, they've just replaced Jim Root so they'll be recording/ Writing/ touring after this Slipknot tour. And now we have to incorporate the Against Me! And Krokodil schedule into our Slipknot predictions too.

If we don't get Slipknot next year, we will never get them. And I just can't see it happening. It would trump the Cho Sued moment though.

I'm sure R+L can easily beat Sonisphere to the punch if they wanted to.

I don't get where this thing that Slipknot are gonna do one lot of festivals and one tour and then they're done touring the album and move onto a new one instantly. That'd be less than most bands do and also Slipknot toured their last album with a couple hundred shows over five years. The touring bassist and drummer could be replaced with ease if their schedules actually conflicted but the drummer already left Against Me! a while ago and I imagine the bassist would probably leave Krokodil if he had to choose between.

I just can't see R&L going for it to be honest, I think Slipknot are at that stage where they could headline - but I don't think they'd be the most popular choice.

I can see R&L going for them if they have two other very strong headliners in the bag though.

Muse, Slipknot, Kanye West would work imo. But I don't think Kanye will be there next year.

Slipknot - Foo Fighters - Foals

that'd go down quite well I reckon something there for everyone with a bit off a crossover audience for Foos/Foals; Foos/Knot

plus if you get a big name indie band opposite Slipknot (i.e. The Vaccines) I doubt you'd hear too many complaints

Yeah that's what I'm reckoning right now.

Enter Shikari against Foals and Chance the Rapper against Foos. 30STM subbing Slipknot. Closing sets wherever.

They were up against QOTSA.

But I mean, that was very early on in their career before they'd gotten on everyone's nerves and infiltrated the MOR crowd. Ed Sheeran got a big crowd on FR didn't he? You'd be pushed to find many people thinking he'll headline soon - or maybe you would've before Mumfords were announced.

One of the Slipknot band members have already said they want to record a new album after touring, I read an article but can't find it atm.

Slipknot did shows over five years on their last album because Paul died, you can't relate this tour schedule to their last for that reason. for a couple of years after Paul's death, Corey didn't even want to do another album.

Slipknot in a year will have toured this album around the world once completely, stopping in Europe twice and America twice, for extensive tours/ festival runs, and that's all just stuff announced so far. Then they will have Knotfest in October, maybe they'll bring that to the UK in 2016?

AlLessandro wouldn't need to leave Krokodil.

Hey guys, long-time dweller, first time poster.

My initial reaction was Florence + The Machine, Foals/The Prodigy, Muse. With Subs being The Vaccines, The 1975, Disclosure. And R1 headliners being Bloc Party, Enter Shikari and maybe someone like Rudimental (or maybe Rudi are too big for R1?).

Please be kind, I am new to all this hahaha.

Chvrches will have an album out by then, reckon they'll be NME headliners or 3rd/4th down.

They are in the studio now, so that sounds pretty likely to me for next year. I can totally see third down happening as like the Bastille/Imagine Dragons/other pop orientated type act.

    • Yeah I find it strange, if they were just a silly act then they wouldn't be headlining the 3rd stage. The likes of vengaboys yes but they aren't doing their own sizeable arena dates.  That looks very weak for what they could actually get, but GC aren't playing 3rd main stage with The 02 and the Coop arena and in a same slot that KSE are. MIW aren't carrying those two dates either, neither are Turnstile and Parkway Drive tickets didn't play out. You gotta do better than Ghost, Blink and Deftones though.    I think you are a bit even if that is not the intention. I'm genuinely shocked they booked them for the avalanche and I think it'll be rammed out of the tent. While ADTR will obviously get a lot too, many Download attendees will had the chance to see them at Slam Dunk. I think 90s fest getting Scooter was class and while there would have been some Download crossover, the Slam Dunk crossover given acts you get on the avalanche will be a different level.

    • So, what would the weather have been like at this year's festival?   It's been shambolic around here, the rain is soul destroying and showing no sign of letting up, bar odd sporadic days here and there. Disgraceful for June.   What's it like down there? Have we had a lucky escape?...
