Couple weeks before Glastonbury, I'm thinking disclosure could be headlining a stage considering its been 8 years since there last appearance and have had two new albums out since then. Other than that Anotr would be nice in the sunset

Junction 2 is now a three day event this year. The Saturday looks interesting to me. Back to the original style for that day it seems but pretty good overall.

Insta post from WHP says it's their only UK performance of the year. I'm not particularly bothered but does seem a shame - good crowd pleasers.

Any decent day festivals in London this summer? Trying to plan a stag do (we're all from Liverpool and not your typical stag do people) and a cheeky day festival somewhere in the UK would be perfect.

All Points East is a good day out. We're going to LCD Soundsystem one, August Bank Hol. Field Day will be the day after, can't see the lineup is out yet but it's usually reliable.

Depends when in the summer, Junction 2, Waterworks, Wide Awake and GALA are all decent festivals.

And the type of music your group wants!  Obviously electronic cos of the thread it’s posted in but have personally had great days at junction 2, field day/APE, Elton etc… but depends what your stag group like!

Was just thinking today how I can’t remember IICON ever feeling even slightly busy. Not saying that’s a bad thing necessarily. I wasn’t there for this four tet set though.

Went to see the chemical brothers at arcadia then went to se corner to see the end of four tets set. Got into se corner no fuss and then just pushed through the crust of the crowd at IICON to get to the front of four tet and there was so much space at the front!

As theyre also doing primavera (again) i assume they want to do the lowest number of shows for the highest amount of money possible and frankly who can blame them. They will probably make their decent years income across about 10 shows all year

Are Justice likely to announce UK / Ireland dates would love to catch them there but obviously even more wanting to catch them at Glastonbury as was lucky to get a ticket this year 🙏 have been reading mixed thoughts they seem about 50/50 at this stage it seems to me

I would think it odd they tour in europe and dont hit the UK at all. But stranger things have happened.

    • I want to chime in here and say that I think Simple Minds must be one of the more underrated bands of the 80s honestly. Empires & Dance and New Gold Dream are phenomenal albums. And two of my favourites of that decade in any genre.
    • Same, same. I am doing this for few years. Always works. There are some exceptions when the area completelly packed (i.e The XX this year), but even in this case it is much easier to walk from the right side.
    • You don't have to pay for an additional ticket but the front barrier at least is all controlled by security and a lot of people stay in there for the bigger acts so if you don't get there early enough you risk not being in there.   There is an option you can pay to have fast lane access priority which they suggest you arrive 30 minutes before a headline show but the first two sections are still even for them based on capacity. I did read that it's going very corporate and becoming too money money which I agree to an extent. There are points on the two biggest stages where not only accessing these bits is priority but dedicated quicker and direct access points for them too....but at €225 for the weekend I'm not sure I want to be pulled into that. I went with Three Days Grace, Linkin Park and Maiden being my must sees so I did what I had to for the latter 2 to get in to where I needed to. You do that too much though and it'll cost you your overall enjoyment of other bands there.   As an overall experience, it's definitely overrated to what I thought it would be. I will vouch for the food being decent.    The reason I haven't just gone in a bought too is because of the extra shipping fee and then selling it on if I didnt go. By QR code its easy to transfer like, but its a lot of money to commit that it might need selling later and to sell a ticket, £300 in fact. Hopefully they won't be the only festival to get Foos while not confirmed yet and Blink. But the Blink pulling power alone is there to be seen.
