Just got back to the UK after a crazy 3.5 months!

Finished off with with a four day run, climaxing in a jungle rave in Playa Del Carmen on Saturday night headlined by Matthias Meyer. The video I've attached (hopefully it works) was the scenes at 6am as the sun started rising. I think I lasted until about 8:30/9am, and it was bloody wonderful. 30 quid for a ticket with travel included, and such a diverse crowd just absolutely going for it.

Highlight was probably this remix getting dropped as well. Pure and utter goosebumps 2:25 onwards.

Spontaneously went to see Kettama this weekend and it was one of the best things I've seen.

Void sound system, small venue. Incredible.

Big GSH in his tour schedule.

Yeah he’s unreal. Along with HAAI my favourite DJ about atm.

Watched Bushwaka in a pub in the Yorkshire hills on Sunday, great night/crowd and decent set.

He descirbed it after as "Some mad place in the middle of nowhere. Often the best parties happen happen like this 🔥🔥🔥" he wasn't far wrong 😂😂😂

Wait what? Whereabouts was this? I would have totally come along had I known about it. I'm north Notts - so not too far a mission.

It was called Illicit Disco, White Lion in Todmorden. Like the Traders Club in neighbouring Hebden Bridge they pull decent names for what are essential pubs/clubs in the arse end of nowhere 😁

Same town 'Out in the sticks' used to be held in.

I hope we get a proper tour from them as well, although not sure what size venues they'd play now.

Me too, they've always seemed to have done Nov/Dec tours last few times.    I've seen them at Bristol 02/Brighton Dome in past so a mid 2-5k type venue. Sure they'd probably do Hammersmith as well.

I saw them at Hammersmith Apollo/Odeon (or whatever it's called these days) on their last 2 tours but I think they do smaller venues outside London.

I went to Insomniacz in Sheffield. In Leeds I used to go to Stinkys on a Sunday for Back2Mine. All day on a Sunday... very odd vibe. Baseline house & messed up heads. Opened at 8am initially til midnight.w

We went to Insomniacz once after Gatecrasher and it was lethal, hard house or extreme hard house, at 7 am it was all too much haha. We did see a paper boy in there with his paper bag though haha.

    • I am as well not a fan of these side by side stages. too many people at the same places and you have always people around you who wait for the other stage...
    • If only they could get the Bits area back (and add maximum 5k capacity) the site would feel less crowded.
    • Blame it on the side-by-side setup. There are cases where it works well - got a great location in front of the middle screen for Bexter Dury-Big Thief-Little Simz, just had to move about 20 meters each time for a great location. But on most cases it sucks
    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
