Altern8 have self confirmed for this year

so excited , saw him / them (not sure if it is just Mark Archer now) at boomtown and they were awesome

Yes, great news - although I kind of hope Mark at least plays one set on his own. When they’re together now it’s often ‘Acid Techno’, which seems to be the accepted term for hardcore-like frenzied stuff at one hundred and stupid bpm!

Saw Mark play a proper acid house set last year as part of the Second Summer of Love 30th anniversary celebrations and he was excellent.

Probably unusual opinion, but I’d love to see Booka Shade somewhere at Glastonbury. I fell in love with them all over again when I’ve seen their live set couple of weeks back. I know they’ve been playing nearly every possible festival in the universe, but they’re one of the best live acts I’ve seen.

Not that unusual... I like Booka Shade. Theyd go down well in the glade

I posted somewhere (can't find it now) a while back that Kevin Saunderson &/or Inner City had a UK festival date on Glasto Friday, which has got to be at Glasto.

The date of that show has now been changed to Sunday.

Kevin Saunderson owes us a Farm set after he had to cancel (for perfectly reasonable reasons!) a couple of years ago. Hope he does a solo set too...

Oooh, great shout on that sound system

Wow! I thought everyone was sick of seeing them everywhere! Nice one! I much prefer their older productions, but the live show is a great dosage of old and new and sounds incredible!

Wasn't expecting much on the first poster, but at least we've confirmed Jonny H!

Most anticipated artist on this thread so well done I’d say. Can’t wait to see him for the first time!

Off to Printworks tonight for the AVA night, think I might go off home though after Joy O, not too arsed with Hunee, and would have to sit through him to watch Mall Grab.

Looking at that line-up, @Matt - Ed Banger Records, I think I’d be offski after Joy O too. It’ll be early enough to go somewhere else if you cba!

Have a smashing night.

    • its diabolical already 😞 .... The refs should have walked out in solidarity
    • The main problem with these is that noone really predicts the shocks that happen in the early knockouts or quarters, so it inevitably gets to like what I put in the semis (France v Spain and Eng vs Arg). You always end up with 4/6 of the top sides reaching the semis, and this is with me 'predicting' Swiss to beat Portugal.   I think we will see a shock result against a top 5-6 team of an African/Asian side knocking a favourite out, and I can see one of the big guns resting heavily for a 3rd group game and ending up 2nd place in their group, which would throw these whole brackets out of whack.   I think the main interesting thing from the brackets, is that if you're only caring about 'likely' group winners, you have France/Spain/Germany/Belgium/Netherlands (who I'm not convinced top group F, that group seems v exciting to me), all on one side of the bracket. Albeit the other side is England/Brazil/Arg/Portugal, but the European giants do seem weighted towards one half.   'best 3rd place' is very hard to call, I suspect there might be 1 or 2 who get 6 points (tied with 2nd) but are there on goal difference/head to head, while others could be on 3 or even 2 points. I also don't actually know if a bunch of these middle-Eastern teams who I've predicted to finish bottom are that bad. I think the ConCaCaf lot who've qualified partially by virtue of the 3 strongest teams all being hosts probably are 0-1 point teams mostly, but I wonder if there's some near-Asian teams I'm underestimating.   I'm honestly really excited though.
    • Early Bird tickets at €245 if you’ve been this year.
    • €225 plus fees (as a 2026 ticketholder and with Revolut) is a crazy good deal.
    • I don't think PJ has as much broad appeal in the UK as GNR has. Rock listeners will know Alive and Jeremy so on, but which songs would a random person off the street know? With GNR you have Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child O Mine and Paradise City to name a few.
