Hold on Steffi is playing? Completely missed that. Stage anyone?

Saw her in a sweaty basement in Manchester not long ago and it was punishingly good. Pure raw techno.

Genosys, zero - with Virginia.

Your recent experience bodes well for her ripping up one of my favourite places at Glastonbury.

:)

i doubt Beat Hotel or Stonebridge will have much/anything of what you're after TBH.

Common is your best bet.

I have the same complaints, but I've accepted that Glastonbury isn't really the place for cutting edge tbh. it's a place where Eats Everything gets as many sets as he likes, the same DnB names appear every year playing the same stages as the previous year, and a hundred boring house DJs play the same stuff for hours on end. there's not going to be weird experimental stuff, there's not going to be bangin techno generally.

FWIW, I think Katharsis in Amsterdam in August (same weekend as Dekmantel) would be right up your street. 2 room warehouse, starts around 11, goes until 7am. 2 nights this year, Friday and Saturday.

Off to katharsis this year on the saturday after dek, can't wait. In other news, now arts house and hessle are in silver hayes, really opens up the thursday night in stonebridge, mastermix too big for a thursday there

Sorry to ask, but friends are coming to their first glastonbury and i want them to have a good time in the late hours, but this is not my scene at all! This is the type of stuff they love, i dont know what genre it is or who is playing at the festival who does it, but can anyone guide me to the right areas / djs ?

Maybe. I just thought that if he's got a whole host of biggish names that they might want to showcase it in the newly expanded Temple capacity.

Wherever and whatever, I've definitely got my mojo back after today's foolish fretting - and Steffi has done the job!

Ben

Ben, man! Glad you pulled yourself together. There won't be a bigger party on the whole of Earth that weekend so you'll be in the right place. Definitely feel there will be a couple more techno gems to come, too.

Absolutely! Thursday seems wide open this year. It's a shame it finishes early, but I cannot wait.

I just want Joris Voorn one year. It's not much to ask for, is it?

+1 for that. Really enjoyed the half of the essential mix he did recently (though whoever did the first half was absolutely dire).

Yep I thought it was excellent. Bit disappointed he didn't get a Jon Hopkins esque Glade slot and doubt I'll be in the mood to see him if his Silver Hayes slot is late night. :-(

Just spoke to Craig at fabric

no Craig Richards at glasto this year. Shame

I love how you've posted this as you were probably still at Fabric.

Sad news Craigy won't be on the farm though :(

anyone else trying for secret resale tickets?

I have mine but one of my best friends who has come the last few years didn't get tickets in October/resale, so I'm trying to get one this/next week for him, especially as he's my main dance/DJ gig partner!

Best of luck for your pal, gd.

If the unthinkable happens and the croupier of Fate does not deal him a winning hand, this wonderful thread will provide you with dance partners. I guarantee it.

:)

Anyone else on here going to John Talabot at the Pickle Factory this Sunday?

No sadly. Only night left before Glastonbury is probably Chapter 10 the bank holiday weekend (if I'm good).

Would anyone be interested in one solitary spare ticket for Black Madonna, Shanti Celeste & Ellen Allien at XOYO this friday?

For the bargain price of £6

I'm still going :D

Oh if there was any way I could make it work I would have it. Was there last Friday and it was fun. Add in the other names :o

Sounds like a great time and stage for him to be on (Clash dependant)! Going to give his new record a proper listen now.

    • Even with the recent heavy showers it's too early to tell what site conditions would have been like.  The very hot spell would have certainly dried things up considerably, and rain since then has been equalled by a stiff breeze so, without the benefit of actually walking the site, I'd guess ground conditions at present are about perfect.   If we had a festival to look forward to I think the weather watchers would have been at the "all to play for" stage at present.
    • Hush cancelled with a similar event now taking place at EartH and Cate Le Bon doing her own show, maybe others have rearranged gigs?
    • Yeah I find it strange, if they were just a silly act then they wouldn't be headlining the 3rd stage. The likes of vengaboys yes but they aren't doing their own sizeable arena dates.  That looks very weak for what they could actually get, but GC aren't playing 3rd main stage with The 02 and the Coop arena and in a same slot that KSE are. MIW aren't carrying those two dates either, neither are Turnstile and Parkway Drive tickets didn't play out. You gotta do better than Ghost, Blink and Deftones though.    I think you are a bit even if that is not the intention. I'm genuinely shocked they booked them for the avalanche and I think it'll be rammed out of the tent. While ADTR will obviously get a lot too, many Download attendees will had the chance to see them at Slam Dunk. I think 90s fest getting Scooter was class and while there would have been some Download crossover, the Slam Dunk crossover given acts you get on the avalanche will be a different level.
