To answer my previous rhetorical question, yes they are, Headline V this weekend and have a tidy R + L sized gap in their schedule. Hmnn.. Not really your R+L Type band BUT headlined 6 years ago, so why not?

Thing is, subs tend to pull headliner sized crowds and I can't imagine a massive crowd to TDCC.

That's your problem. It's often the case that when an act is booked they are a bit smaller than when they actually come to play as you might have seen when you were surprised by Jake Bugg, Imagine Dragons and every other act you see.

Yes they are. I think there'd be a bigger song and dance made if it was someone as big as The Killers playing a secret set. They're bigger than most, if not all of the headliners.

It can't be after Arctic Monkeys - the festival has a curfew. It could still be someone like BMTH though as the speculation was that they were originally booked or something.

If you're going down the route of 'an act who said no originally because they'd signed for V' then surely Bastille are just as good a shout as the Kaisers (not that they're at all likely).

If an act said no originally because they'd signed for V it's not of choice - it's of contractual obligations. Don't expect anyone touted as exclusives anywhere else and don't expect anyone from V.

It could still fit into the story being spun that a band declined to play R&L because they wanted to do V (and were aware that they could only sign on for one of them) before offering to do some kind of surprise set to get around the contractual obligation.

Whilst the details aren't available to me, I don't think it's that easy, or it'd be more commonplace, surely?

I'm guessing with it being a secret set the act will have to take a reduced fee, which I reckon is why it's not very commonplace

My best mates boss, his brother is a roadie for Kasabian and he reckons it's them who are doing the secret set.

Who knows. I'm sticking with ATL or FOB.
