The cats were initially introduced in 2007 to keep the rodent population down, all the filth and shit was attracting loads of rats. The cats bred like crazy and all got a bit out of hand and went wild. They were quite placid for a while, but Eminem's violent music last year was a bad influence on them and they started to get rowdy. There's a video somewhere of Melvin Benn saying they're going to be getting some bears to solve the cat problem, I can't find it at the moment but it'll be on Youtube if you search long enough. Personally, I think it's a bad idea, but then again I know fuck all about the logistics of running such a massive music festival so I can't really tell the man how to do his job.

    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
