Yeah I feel like I'm more likely to see PJ Harvey on tour soon than Beck.

Is Beck that much of a live rarity?

I dunno - I feel like I've seen him a heap of times.

Maybe less common at festivals, I suppose.

I had a look and I think he's only done a handful of actual UK gigs in the last 10 years or so.  Everything else is festivals but he doesn't really do that many of them either.

Gave it his all but the crowd just weren't arsed, and he made a few comments about it. Seemed like by the end he knew he was fighting a losing battle. Hope I get to see him again when the crowd is more up for it

I thought it came across really flat on the TV - both the band and the crowd. I imagine a sunny afternoon would have really helped the mood.

I think he seemed really disappointed by how dead the crowd was, they were looking very tired, though completely back to life for Coldplay.

Poor Beck. Basically played to a crowd of Coldplay fans who wanted a good spot. He did his best and it was good set, but certainly lacked the energy you get when the crowd and artist feed off each other.

I enjoyed it, agree with the sentiments though that the crowd was flat and mostly waiting for Coldplay. Did feel for him a bit as he was clearly trying his best and not stropping about it. Was half tempted to leave the front due to people shoving in for Coldplay and generally just being dickheads.

Really enjoyed Beck, and he gave it a proper greatest hits - type set. He couldn't have done a lot more really. Shame about the crowd not really being into except for 'Loser'. 

Lost Cause didn't really fit the set but was was a nice surprise. Great song.

I was right at the front and the crowd was horrific. Nobody gave a fuck at all and I'm sure i was getting stares for singing Think I'm In Love.

 

Christ the part of the front I was in the people around me didnt even know 1999

Still one of my highlights from the weekend. I was between the soundstages and the crowd up there were better than down the front, but not much use to get the energy levels up, but he still put on a damn good show

Made the (for me, unusual) choice to watch this from the back and definitely missed out on the crowd not getting into it.  Everyone back there seemed to be loving it, and he brought out the bangers.

We had a right good giggle.

Beck exceeded my expectations, for me one of the highlights of the festival, wasn't planning on watching him as I didn't quite appreciate how good he is!

Was in the pit. Crowd were appalling. Felt really sorry for him. 

I thought he was fantastic.

It was full of people waiting for Coldplay. It was a bastard leaving there too as more coldplay-ites arrived.

Would like to see him on tour.

That's a real shame about the crowd at the front, but it was great where we were (near the disabled platform in the centre) and we seemed to be surrounded by people having as good a time as us. At least he didn't do a Gillespie and pout and whinge about everyone being there for the headliner. I loved it - agree with others here, he was fantastic.

I was also at the front, would probably say it was the worst crowd that I've ever been in. It was absolutely packed with Coldplay fans who had no clue who Beck was. Pushing and shoving. There was a point near the end where I literally could not move.  And - get this - there was an older couple next to us sat down in camping chairs. This was in the pit. They only moved after Beck left. Ruined the (already pretty poor) vibe for everyone around. 

 

Thought Beck himself was great, and the 'Where It's At' medley at the end was one of my highlights of the fest.
