I don't think there'll be one by next Summer, especially with the shows they're doing so far not being massive. I think maybe they'll continue to play road test a few new songs and then put an album out between Summer 2019 and Summer 2020.

A Castlefield gig, supporting Florence and the Machine and potentially headlining Green Man doesn't seen like the kind of Summer they'd have planned for a new album.

Maybe not by the summer, but they've been playing new songs for over a year, so I imagine these slots will have several new songs in.

From all of their social media activity recently I came to the conclusion that they had been in the studio but I may have got that horribly wrong. 

But yeah, I think it will just be a few touch base gigs next year before a new album late 2019/early 2020 and then that triumphant Other Stage headliner slot.

In Ohio this year, the National played 45 different songs to me over the course of 2 nights ? but i didn’t do any running
