The Clearest Blue
I was about 10 people from the front and thought the whole set was spectacular, I’m a complete convert to the point my girlfriend snapped at me to shut up about how good it was haha

Hugh Jass
There was also a disappointing lack of small coloured rodents...
the wonderwhy
The setlist was just really safe. Was actually good fun until thet brought the fucking Staves out, then things got stale and the unnecessary introduction of the War on Drugs didn't really help. All of that and the singalong seemed to take a lot of energy out the last 5 or so songs, and it all ended rather abruptly. Before that it was good though. The 'hits' were fantastic. Tuna
singalong didn't go well, especially as half the crowd got the words wrong. about today was so so lovely.

Managed to pull myself together after the first few songs and enjoy the rest of set. I had such a good spot to begin with, had to get out of there though! Rylbld9
Safe setlist but still an awesome show. Highlight for me was About Today, was so so good.
Amy Lawn
Weird news, the Vanderlyle finish was spine-tingling at Latitude, and I was pretty far back. I did notice a lot of daytrippers that day tho, so probs if you enough of an ultra to get a bus to Suffolk, you know the words to Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks. Losing my hair
I was about 10 back in the centre and the singalong was great around me. The Adam Granduciel thing didn't really work but apart from that I really, really enjoyed it.
hfuhruhurr
We were front, to the left of stage. Crowd around me was almost all couples - really happy singalong until... Mr November started then a bunch of about 6 knobs pushed passed to get to the centre. At that point Matt got off the stage and walked up to where we were. We were not fucked over. ghostdancer1
"For every 10 songs the National finish, we write and record many more instrumental sketches. These ones are from the Boxer, High Violet, Trouble Will Find Me and Sleep Well Beast eras. There are 100's more. We still enjoy them so perhaps you will too."https://beta.p-e-o-p-l-e.com/album/songs-without-words
ghostdancer1
also, so happy they didn't end with VCG singalong at Primavera. dreadful gig closer.
dentalplan
Can't be worse than unreleased fuckin Turtleneck, mind.
kingcrawler
Them closing with Turtleneck actually suited me as it meant I had more time to make the quick run to the JP tent for Father John Misty. I generally agree about Vanderlyle though, works well at smaller gigs but can't see it working at all outdoors.
the wonderwhy
it would've been fine had they actually fuckin played it
Superunknown
So they began to play Pink Rabbits tonight in Gothenburg but Matt forgot the words so threw the mic away and went onto the next song. Ffs if that happened to me I’d cry. Seriously doubting they’ll play it next Saturday now. Gutted. Maybe they got rid of it hence the setlist being way more similar than at the start of the tour.

nikkic
They played The Geese of Beverly Road last night. Haven’t seen it in the set lists of this tour that much. I think the Sleep Well Beast tour ends soon, should mean a hiatus and some new music in 2019 hopefully. Hope we don’t have to wait until 2020. ghostdancer1
they played So Far Around The Bend twice in the last week too. Light Years is getting a decent run out, 22 gigs so far, so you'd imagine it's going to be on the new album, whenever it comes out.

kingcrawler
It does seem like they had a lot leftover from recording Sleep Well Beast so I’m hoping for a new album in late 2019. I think they’ll still be slightly active next summer doing their own festivals but yeah, hopefully once the tour ends they’ll get back to recording new stuff pretty quickly. Amy Lawn
I'd beef with the lack of new material if I'd been there, but that's a hell of a run of songs.
The Martini Police
Great setlist but does anyone know what's happened there? Was there something special about the show/date/venue? Very odd to suddenly only play 1 song off their latest album and drop the likes of Bloodbuzz Ohio and Mr November that I think they play every gig.
