On the actual issue of them headlining it, can't see it any time soon. Noel said he wouldn't play there again, musing it was a better festival to visit than to play at. For him, anyway. Note that Glastonbury was about the only festival in Europe he didn't play last year. Liams voice is shot in the live arena so i would advise floating voters to go and watch Tony Benn or Billy Bragg waffle on about something or other.

Hang on, not fair on the troll front.

It is true that they are the only group whose albums i own but haven't listened to because I got bored of same old in first couple of tracks.

Willing to think about maybe trying them again at some point, possibly same outcome

And as for the hives warm up act....anyone who was there must agree surely.

Some of the ideas about why they were so utterly gargantuan - undoubtedly the biggest band since The Beatles on these shores - are so convoluted, so desperate to come up with complex sociological/political explanations, its like someone doing a hundred page thesis on 2+2=4.

he also said Jay Z shouldn't play at 'his' Glastonbury. He is quite plainly a total bell-end

The Jay Z comments were one of the only times i've rolled my eyes listening to Noel. In general, i love his interviews, he's a funny and entertaining guy. Sure, he gets on a roll and spouts some shit sometimes but he certainly is not stupid or unintelligent. Liam is your man for that.

    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
