I am doing a cheeky little dance of joy - last seen on ticket day as I gave the final registration number to the bemused guy on the end of the phone at See Tickets!!!

An absence of mud would absolutely MAKE. MY. WEEK. !!!

Good to see William there fretting and and me trying to calm him down :-D

He was right to tho, I was clinging onto straws. Bad times.

Still very odd remembering how nice it was at the start of the festival. Worst weekend ever in my life, not just for the rain.

Accuweather forecast has taken a slight turn - looking more cloudly/rainy than it did the other day.

Any value in this? It's early doors so I assume it'll change (as it has changed loads already) but is Jackone 'gospel' as far as Glastonbury weather is concerned?

I've been following the general Netweather model updates (posted over the whole of today) over the last 45 minutes. Hey! I do these things so you don't have to!

And I'm left ....

.... feeling neutrally, albeit still a bit faintly, positive.

But that's only because I'm massively, Worthy (and other) Farms sized, paranoid. My paranoia is bigger than Glastonbury Festival's actual site!!!

Objectively speaking though .... if that's at all possible .... a lot (not all) of today's technical updates are looking pretty benign for next week ....

Back tomorrow ...

Funny how everyone was freaking out in 2010 just 5 days before the festival began. Some forecasts were going for wet conditions over the weekend, and lots of the GFS runs were going for some rain Friday-Sunday looking at the ensemble image I posted on 18/06/2010!

If anything, the current model output at this stage before the festival is better than in 2010.

EDIT: You can see the long dry (and hot) run-up to the 2010 festival in the above image clearly though.

I try to follow this thread but get lost now and again with all these charts and diagrams. What we saying it's looking like at the minute?

Still unsettled but won't be a mud bath. Will likely see some rain over the course of the festival but less than originally expected?

There will be weather, and a lot of it?

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
