What do you have? I want something tall but not too wide.  I don't want to take up masses of camping space as there's just the two of us, but a decent porch and some standing height would be lovely

This looks pretty much identical, but I'm not spending £150 on it - I'll wait til it's closer to £100. A bed area and a porch of approximately similar size, and quite tall so I'm not rolling around on my knees all the time is all I ask really

I love the zip for an electric hook-up, at Glastonbury..! Another nice looking tent! Possibly a little too large though for me

Tent of our dreams, that.  My tent-mate and I (and our old knees) often gaze at those. The bliss of standing up!  Priced out of my league though.  I keep hoping to find an abandoned one some year.

Its not the price that gets me about those tents but the weight. Just too much for me to drag into Glastonbury or any other festival.

Are you my mate?  That's what she said about it!  My retort was that if we could afford the tent, we could afford a good trolley for it.  I'm going to keep a peep on Gumtree and the like anyway.

Hah, great minds. We come by coach normally and carry everything in one go without a trolley all the way up and round to Toms Field so it needs to be light. My only proviso for Glastonbury is that it needs to have a halfway decent porch so that mud can be contained so I sacrifice head height for that.

This thread is one of my favourites. I've been told I can have a new tent :) I currently have a Vango Beta 450XL. It's my go to tent but is starting to wear a little bit. It comes to festivals, camping trips and is starting to show how well used it is. (the seams are tearing a little)

I like the 4 berth ones, and love the porch space. It's not quite tall enough to stand up fully in and the zip does have a weak point where it leaks if the rain lands on it right. Got it at a steal about 5 years ago at £60 from eBay, brand new, never used. I doubt I'll be lucky again but it's worth a go!

I'm after one of these, standing height 3 man job. Bit pricey but hoping for a sale between now and Bearded Theory in May.

I had a look at one of these tents in Go Outdoors yesterday. It looks great with plenty of height, the porch area is a good size, you could easily but in 2 chairs but it is rather heavy (12kg) which has put me off a bit as I'm going on the coach this year. Does anyone know any decent, lighter alternatives that are similar in height?

I joined just now so I could comment on the tents just mentioned.  I took this tent (above) to Glastonbury last year and it was my first time, so I didn't know what to go for.  The tent is huge when up, much bigger than the picture.  It was fine for the camping, but totally unpractical as it was so heavy, when my cart broke in the mud, I had to leave it there as I just couldn't carry it. :-(. So an expensive lesson learnt.

So this time I did more research and found this one. http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-galaxy-300-tent-p367477

So far its been perfect, you can stand up, but its only 5kg to carry.  But the major problem is the price, but if you factor in cost per use then it's worth it.  Easy to put up and pack away.

The other top tip I have is pack gaffer tape and get a set of ratchets.  After my trolley breaking last year it is heavy duty sack trucks for me.

Bloody hell, £240! I'd very much like one, but it'd need to be less than half that price - I'm a tight and mean man. I have a price in my head and I will not pay more than that. For a comfy tent with a decent bit of room for 2 of us, a porch etc, it's £100. Until it's £100 or under I ain't buying it.

Why don't you just steal a tent from the tent shop - it'll bring the costs down further. Quite dramatically in fact.

Not the lightest, but plenty of space for 2 people, plus a huge porch where you can stand, sit on chairs or whatever.

Edit - it was £79.99 on offer when i bought it!

One of my friends who is a Glastonbury festival aficionado almost had a spiritual moment when he bought one of those to lug his stuff on and off site. His words went something the lines of 'why the fuck didn't I buy one of these years ago'. That should speak volumes to you.
