Has anyone tried these thingies that you put on a gas ring and you can make toast? Worth the effort?

Shewees sound good but I'm sure it was on here years ago that the idea of a cheap plastic kitchen funnel (not to be put back to use in the kitchen) and a fabric conditioner bottle was suggested - cheaper than shewees and travel johns.

Tried this one. In my hands it didn't work. Bread not toasted yet toaster thingy blisteringly hot. To be fair only tried on festival camping trips so breakfast usually taken with G&T - this may have hindered my culinary attempts.

At the risk of running the 'you don't need a smart phone at Glastonbury' gauntlet, bought one of these from Amazon, have been using it this weekend, and frankly, it's brilliant!

It does exactly as it says and has kept two phones (I have an android for work and an iPhone for me) charged since Friday morning. Looks like it's still got plenty of charge left in it too.

So, if you do want to take a smart phone, or any phone where the battery won't last all week, then I would thoroughly recommend. :)

hmm was considering getting a trolley up until recently upon realising i'm skint, but this may change things...

dont do it mate, that will be useless...if your taking enough stuff to need a trolley you;ll nee a decent trolley(pneumatic tyres) i took two once , the one of pneumatic tyres was fine, the other absolutely useless

Most of these little trolleys dont even make it from the car park to the gate! Designed for smooth airport floors and thats it. I agree with neil999 -if you need a trolley invest in one with pneumatic tyres. Otherwise everything on your back!

halfords have 20% off selected camping equipment online.

just got a tent with 2 rooms and living area big enough to stand in, 2 double air beds and 4 sleeping bags for a cool £63.99.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_786705_langId_-1_categoryId_236906

This is year 3 for me using a tent like that from Halfords - great value for money. It is quite heavy so I put all the poles in my back pack to lessen the weight of carrying the tent bag.

yeah im happy with my purchase. slight concern over the 1500mm hydrostatic head - i think this may be a bit low?... but i have faith that we are going to have ok weather so we should be fine.

Got one of these today for carrying some beer and what not around site with me during the days, £11, and it folds in to a tiny wee square! it's amazing, i reckon I can get 6-8 cans in there after seeing it in the flesh today!

that's pretty cool. been thinking on what to carry my booze in as i'm aware that having a backpack may lead to people opening it from behind / cutting it open etc when i'm not paying attention...

Absolutely. We take two 4 wheeler garden trolleys and also this year we're taking:
