Ill most likely get slated for this but I think with 1 maybe 2 more albums as successful or even more than A Flashflood of Colour Enter Shikari can headline and no matter what you say about their music they put on a good show, so much energy. Seem to go down well at reading aswell always drawing decent crowds. I just hope they miss out reading this year and next year and come back big In 2015

Yeah that's the problem, it depends how their next album goes I guess, AFFOC got a lot more coverage but still obviously not enough and they're not exactly radio friendly, don't think they aspire to be either which is what I love about them. Haha Good effort, seen them like 9 times now and amazing every time. Nah I guess you're right, think they will definitely sub in the near future and they fully deserve it imo.

Yeah I think they would have gained a lot of new followers from AFFOC, getting #1 midweek and #4 end of week for a band like that is pretty impressive and like you said if they can produce another huge album which I think they can then they might be in with a chance, here's to hoping

I think the main problem with these "Future Headliners" is that they fail to retain the status.

Looking back every "future headliner" only manages to be a poor headliner off NME hype & then 2 years later

no one cares.

The Darkness - 04

Franz Ferdinand - 06

Razorlight - 07

Arcade Fire - 10

MCR - 11

All these bands were considered poor headliners that year as they were being pushed up to headliner but yet since then they haven't retained that status (apart from Arcade Fire). Therefore were constantly just going to be bumping up bands every now again which will never headline again while repeating the likes of Killers, KOL & Arctic Monkeys etc.

What do people reckon to Noel Gallagher? I reckon with another album the size as his debut, with 4 or so singles getting regular airplay, he'd be bona fide headline size. I find his solo stuff a tad dull but it's alright, think he'd pull a solo headline slot off?

    • Aren't they against touring?
    • If my memory serves me right, it was the other way round - when PS 2022 lineup was released it was already confirmed that she plays Barcelona in May.
    • Cheers! And yep looks identical to Green day's scheduling
    • Reading all the feedback with interest.  If there are now 75,000 tickets officially sold, plus who knows how many more people blagging in - then on the Friday evening and Saturday in particular, it's not ridiculous to suggest there's 50,000 people at Mordor, which is a stadium gig - except with much worse sight lines, an inferior PA, and far less bars and toilets. The Thursday evening in 2022 was of course infamous but on the Friday night for Beck I was trapped about 150m from the stage, surrounded by chatters, and with no prospect of getting nearer the stage.  With hindsight that was when I realised the fest had one way or another fundamentally changed.  Also noting on Reddit that some folk didn't enjoy the Cure or Gorillaz because the sets were "too long".  In future bands may be better received if they actually just play their top 10 Spotify songs then get back off the stage.
    • Has Glastonbury already got council permission for that 5 year run?
