Yeah it's closed now. I made it as a homage to Gazza but he didn't see the funny side, so we agreed it should be closed. It did bring in people from all different forums though and we never found him an avatar sarcastic_blum.gif

this is all i normally think when these arguments rage:

tumblr_mdv14z2j2B1qequb0o1_1280.jpg

anyway, to my point that should be relevant to some of the discussion that has happened:

its not an act who has done the rounds for 3 years when the fest comes around... (isn't that a win??)

plus lets be honest, everyone for however many years was saying foos to headline, when they did finally get round to it "OMG UNINSPIRED GET CREATIVE WITH THE BOOKINGS".

the cure last year was just that, and so is Eminemz this year.

back to boring and uninspiring bookings? no ta!

Except he has only recently played UK fests and already played Reading. If this is as creative as they can get, I can only imagine the other two headliners will be a lump of Melvins shit and The Subways with Bloc Party subbing.

dude, Mr efestivals is absolutely fucked right off that he didn't nail it and someone who he considers a no hoper with no clue about anything at all regarding music business beat him to it. His defence, I couldn't give a shit.

But thanks man, fairplay to the people who appreciate others, and the rest, just another day on here of what I expect.

I like Neil, do my ground work, if I'm wrong, like we all can be so be it.

It was mentioned plenty beforehand due to a) being a past headliner with a new album out and b ) there were that many acts ruled out he had to be considered, I doubt he was the first to call it, I doubt he'd even say he was the first to call it, rather the last to call it as it had been in his predictions for the past week or so, and fair play for that.

No I've not said I was 1st but I did say him in a prediction on Friday Am?, i actually linked Paul Tm to this.

It is quite funny that gazza winds efestivals/tourette/jump up so much.

Its more proof hes getting more right than wrong...probably. Lets be honest if he was not getting under your skin you wouldnt care.

Him being right must proper piss you lot of, his last prediction included eminem if I remember correctly.

you really are as ridiculous as it's possible to get.

You made a guess right out of tens of guesses.

The only thing i'm fucked off about is that you're pretending that's not how it was. I detest bullshit and bullshitters.

Just looked back to find gazzas last prediction and it was eminem.

Correct me if im wrong.

I'll correct you. You're wrong.

His last prediction was that it was Mumfords, but if it wasn't Mumfords, Mumfords would be headlining Glastonbury.

Which is of course up to his normal standards of setting himself up to claim himself as right by covering his guesses from as many angles as possible.

Anyone can say they knew after its been announced, if he did know why didnt he tell?

but I did tell.

Just because you didn't notice or didn't get it doesn't mean that I didn't know.

my guess is....

my guess is....

my guess was ..... Slim Shady. tongue.png

Do you think I was making those "my guess is..." posts because I didn't know who would be announced, or because I'd be able to follow the announcement with the post I made after the announcement?

There is only one right answer.

    • Bit of a rogue one but when Nightwish went on their hiatus a few years ago they didn't rule out doing shows for their 30th anniversary which is next year    Would be a perfect sub for someone like Deftones or even System
    • With 20 euro discount if booked via Revolut too.
    • Yeah, surprisingly no increase from this year
    • its diabolical already 😞 .... The refs should have walked out in solidarity
    • The main problem with these is that noone really predicts the shocks that happen in the early knockouts or quarters, so it inevitably gets to like what I put in the semis (France v Spain and Eng vs Arg). You always end up with 4/6 of the top sides reaching the semis, and this is with me 'predicting' Swiss to beat Portugal.   I think we will see a shock result against a top 5-6 team of an African/Asian side knocking a favourite out, and I can see one of the big guns resting heavily for a 3rd group game and ending up 2nd place in their group, which would throw these whole brackets out of whack.   I think the main interesting thing from the brackets, is that if you're only caring about 'likely' group winners, you have France/Spain/Germany/Belgium/Netherlands (who I'm not convinced top group F, that group seems v exciting to me), all on one side of the bracket. Albeit the other side is England/Brazil/Arg/Portugal, but the European giants do seem weighted towards one half.   'best 3rd place' is very hard to call, I suspect there might be 1 or 2 who get 6 points (tied with 2nd) but are there on goal difference/head to head, while others could be on 3 or even 2 points. I also don't actually know if a bunch of these middle-Eastern teams who I've predicted to finish bottom are that bad. I think the ConCaCaf lot who've qualified partially by virtue of the 3 strongest teams all being hosts probably are 0-1 point teams mostly, but I wonder if there's some near-Asian teams I'm underestimating.   I'm honestly really excited though.
