Parasite, masterpiece.

I really want to see it, but my other half isn't interested. I'm tempted to go myself, would you say it's a film that needs to be seen in the cinema?

Worth pointing out that i have no idea what the film is about. I read the first line of a review and it said it's best to go in blind, so I've tried to keep it that way.

I think so yes for the atmosphere and to not get distracted

I listened to the hype and watched the Joker the other night. It's very dark and depressing but I was very impressed by Joaquin Phoenix's performance. It was very raw and real.

I thought Joker was great, thoroughly enjoyed it. The story wasn't anything original or unique though, for me the real stand out was Joaquin, and i'm really glad he got the Oscar for it

Recently seen 1917 and Parasite. In different ways, both were really good.

Also saw Widows on TV yesterday, which was solid but felt like it tried to do too much.

Both films felt like proper cinematic experiences, the kind that makes me love going to the cinema.

Parasite is an absolute masterpiece. I wish I could go into it again not knowing anything, but at the same time I can't wait to watch it again to pick up on all the hidden details.

Having discovered that I can get half price cinema tickets through work, I set myself the target of watching 24 films in 12 months.

5 weeks in I’ve seen 2017, Rhythm Section and Parasite all of which I’ve enjoyed immensely.

Just before I set this target I was forced to complete last years target (12 in 12) with just one weekend to go..... Jo Jo Rabbit, Little Women, The Gentlemen and Knives Out were seen in one week.

Having avoided most films for decades I’m rather enjoying this new found habit.

Went in to Uncut Gems with high expectations and left thinking it was brilliant. The finale was so tense - really good filmmaking. And agree on Sandler; can be a great actor when he wants to be,  but unfortunately there’s a lot of money to be made with his silly films so he’ll keep making them.

No Time to Die being delayed is a right fucker. Was very excited to see it next month.

I was having problems trying to get people to come with to watch it. Shame though - I was well up for a trip to see it alone, especially as it means I could pick a cheaper cinema.

I guess I see the reason - it needs to make something like $700M to make back MGM's huge outlay on it, and its not going to make that back with cinemas across Europe and Asia being closed. But if nothing underlines how big a threat this is to entertainment beyond big gigs or sports event, its surely that.

Years ago I saw Click and I enjoyed it, but I think that was because I was 14 when I saw it and I was in the demographic for it then. Reluctant to watch it now because I think I'd hate it and it'd kinda ruin that memory. Especially given the likes of Jack & Jill, That's My Boy and various others looked unwatchable.

The new Bond is bound to be poor isn’t it - if only because Craig is far too old for the role.

I'm aware there is precedent tbf. A View to a Kill was done when Roger Moore was 57, and many said he was too old then, while Daniel Craig turns 53 on Monday. Although I liked Spectre overall - bit messy and not as good as Casino Royal or Skyfall but engaging enough.

Of late, some of his better work has been in other stuff. He was pretty good in Logan Lucky and really good in Knives Out.
