Sunset Slot 2013

Elbow absolutely nailed it in 2011, but who do you reckon will take on the pre-headliner slots on the Pyramid next year?

I can see Mumford & Sons making a step up from JP 2010 Other 2011 to Pyramid 2013, and given their new album will be about 9 months old come Glasto a sunset slot might be their bag.

Any others? Unfortunately I can see someone like Plan B or Example in another of the three slots. Other names I'll throw in to the mix are Snore Patrol, Kasabian, Chase & Status and Florence & her Wailing Cat Machine.

Prediction: Mumford, Plan B, Florence.

Noel Gallagher a great shout actually. I was torn between Chase & Status and Plan B for my prediction.

Arcade Fire I think would maybe be a headline act these days given the success of Suburbs and their great back catalogue?

If he ever gets round to bringing out a new album, Paolo Nutini would fit the role well. Don't know if they'd have anyone playing the same stage as last time though.

I put AF in my prediction as I think they only band they'd sub for would be The Rolling Stones, who I think will headline one of the nights.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I think OP means sub-headline slot which, at Glastonbury, is usually when the sun is setting.

Arcade Fire, Plan B and Noel then.

Noel before the Stones. Although that may keep people at the Pyramid for 4-5 hours. I know Eavis likes to book the stages in a way that keeps people moving, to avoid crushes and the like.

Have to agree about Elbow. It's almost heaven watching them play as the sun goes down.

Wouldn't mind a bit of Glasvegas and Paolo Nutini.

Mumford and sons would suit the slot perfectly as the sun sets!

Lots of interesting options unfolding here, I suppose with the year off there is a whole host of artists that could take the slot.

Mumford & Sons - seems very likely in my opinion

Noel Gallagher - played before the Stone Roses at TITP, could see it happening at Glasto too

Florence - high up on the Other in 2010, so I could see her on the Pyramid next year and pre-headliner seems the most likely spot

Chase & Status - I could see a sunset slot on the Pyramid (a bit like Pendulum last year), but agree with what someone said in that they could headline the Other

Sigur Ros - I would love them to play sunset slot, but I don't think they would be there. Maybe headliner of JP/West Holts or sub headliner on the Other as someone else suggested

Arcade Fire - don't think they've got a new album on the way? Therefore I can't see them being there next year unfortunately. The next time they'll be at Glasto, they'll headline.

Plan B, Biffy Clyro and Paulo Nutini - all played 3rd top on the Pyramid in 2011, so I don't think any will reappear in 2013. Plan B probably the most likely to come back, probably as sub-headline on the Other or maybe... dare I say it... headline West Holts?! Biffy and Paulo will take the Pyramid sub-headline slot one day, but perhaps not next year.

I could see Plan B headlining Other, if is new album is big enough, when someone like Arcade Fire/Radiohead are headlining Pyramid.
