Stanton
Music wise : Hot Chip, Super Furries, Echo & the Bunnymen, ACR, Roison Murphy, Optimo, Mik Artistik, Justin Robertson & Weatherall back to back and whatever I stumble upon in the woods. Other stuff : Hollie McNish & JCC
robskyd
My two-penneth... The Moons, Anelog, Yucatan, Teleman, Blossoms, Echo and the Bunnymen, ACR, Mik Artistic (was superb last year!), Roots Manuva It was our first year last year and one of the highlights were the talks in the morning in the Village and watching peeps learn to play the ukulele. We also enjoyed the 'interviews' so will be dipping into those too. Finally I hope the Espresso Martini and Bloody Mary bars are there again which provided the perfect Hair of the Dog ! dirty_dog
I left off the Choir, they are the highlight most years, hoping they do a Hot Chip tune this year but it's most likely to be Oasis
robskyd
Absolutely the Choir. And the Bowie Reimagined sounds interesting too.

More information on this from BBC 6 Music. So it's the Manchester Camerata Orchestra that we knew, but it's got a unique lineup of female singers with it. These include Nadine Shah, Charlotte Church, Jacqui Abbot, Lucy Rose and Jane Weaver. Sounds like it could be pretty amazing. Also they mentioned a few "famous" people in the Camerata Orchestra including the drummer from Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot's band, could one of the line up above be a clue to the secret band? They might have wanted to keep it quiet until the Bowie thing was announced?
generationgav
Kaiser Chiefs just been announced as the Friday night special guests. On one hand I shouldn't be excited, but I saw them at Kendal Calling last year and they were really entertaining, fun and good - so I for one am looking forward to them! johnl
Pleased for the Bowie thing, I'll be there for that. The Karzi Chefs are crap and I won't be anywhere near them.

Carlos The Mackerel
So presumably we will have to get them just before entry to the festival on Friday? Does this mean there will be huge queues? Also where is the football ground in relation to the festival?
Green.flash
On the Facebook page people are saying the tickets should arrive later this week. I wouldn't stress yet.
johnl
The football ground is about two miles from the venue. There are shuttle buses that take you to and from. It is not walkable. I've been the last couple of years and it seems to have worked ok. Make sure you type the right postcode in your Satnav. You will not be allowed into Portmeirion in your car. We normally try to shoot off from festivals early on the Monday morning, but a bit worried about being sat there for hours waiting for a bus. Long discussions about what to pack only being able to do it in one trip as well!

Long discussions about what to pack only being able to do it in one trip as well! we usually leave about 7am and this has been easy but last year we left it till 10am and it was horrendous, 2hrs queuing and all the bus drivers buggered off to lunch at the same time so even when got to the front of the queue we didn't see a bus for 45 mins

Looking like main stage Saturday evening, comedy Sunday afternoon, sfa now on Sunday before Noel. Couldn't see John cooper Clarke but will have a proper look later. wirralchris
For those of you that like finding newer/unheard of bands, I can highly recommend "Little Barrie" They play the estuary stage on the Friday, Saw them recently at another festival and can honestly say that they were a better live act than any of the headliners
johnl
If anyone likes a funky 80s Prince-esque sound give Bad Sounds a go. Friday 1.30 Edited August 27, 2016 by johnl
