Just the normal really :D

is it any good as a festival

What is the crowd like

What is the entertainment like

Ect..

It's a good festival. Nice place, fairly family oriented which affects the crowd - certainly less lively than Reading. There's a bit more entertainment, but it's mostly focused on poetry/theatre type stuff during the day. The arena closes fairly early (11.30 I think?) so there's not a lot of stuff going on late at night - shops open in the camping area but not exactly entertainment, although there's certainly a lively atmosphere in the campsites near the arena.

Anything else?

I heard they had the Ashes scores on the screens this year at Latitude.

I went to the info tent at reading to ask for the score and they laughed at me.

Latitude > Reading

Not on the screens, but there were various places with a banner they updated any time there was a wicket or session end.

Seeings as the thread is relatively dead I'm going to make a bit of a prediction (again) just to keep me amused whilst I should be doing an English essay.

Friday

Blink 182

Prodigy

Weezer

Saturday

Arctic Monkeys

Foals

Jake Bugg

Sunday

Paramore

QotSA

Kaiser Chiefs

I'll also guess that T get Kings of Leon & Kanye as their other two headliners in which case I will be going.

    • I am as well not a fan of these side by side stages. too many people at the same places and you have always people around you who wait for the other stage...
    • If only they could get the Bits area back (and add maximum 5k capacity) the site would feel less crowded.
    • Blame it on the side-by-side setup. There are cases where it works well - got a great location in front of the middle screen for Bexter Dury-Big Thief-Little Simz, just had to move about 20 meters each time for a great location. But on most cases it sucks
    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
    • I love this festival but Mordor has got worse and worse to the point now that I dread going there. 10 years ago there just weren’t as many people, as many bottlenecks and there wasnt the need to arrive early to have a decent spot.
