So according to this thread there are now 3 members of The Fleet Foxes rumoured or confirmed to be at EOTR! Is there any good reason that FF won't be the Friday headliner? If they are I have a companion, if not I'm on my own

Would appear to leave Explosions in the Sky as the clear favourites? Though I'm looking forward to being surprised, especially given how happy I am with the other two headliners.

As good as the prospect of the takeover is, if EITS (or whoever) aren't available we're going to be left with headlining bands who didn't headline the same festival last year because EOTR has committed to handing over the entire day to other specialist curators.

(Idea for next year: get a person/band to curate the stages for one day? I know in 2007 Howe Gelb had a hand in booking the Friday.)

I didn't actually think Cocteau Twins would be in the running for headliner, but you never know!

Explosions would be an obvious choice. No tour dates past 29th July yet. But can't see why they haven't been announced yet...

Maybe it will be a headliner not on Bella Union, but who used to be on Bella Union maybe?

Looks like it will be Explosions which I would be more than happy with. Andrew Bird or the Walkmen at a stretch but seems unlikely... Lift to Experience reunion?

What's to say the delay in a headliner announcement isn't due to the fact that Bella Union are about to sign a new, MASSIVE artist who is headliner material? I guess it's a possibility. I'm sure it'll be epic, whoever it is.

Explosions In The Sky would be pretty underwhelming... but I won't mind if Midlake/Dirty Three/The Low Anthem are headlining the Garden Stage.

Some great choices there. Definitely agree we could do with some bigger, upbeat names. Probably wishful thinking but someone like Deerhunter would be amazing, pretty sure they've never played EoTR either. Or someone like Cloud Nothings or The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Or Caribou as someone mentioned would be amazing.

Caribou would be up towards headliner status now after the couple of years they've had. No word on the new album yet though so it seems unlikely.

I'd love for Menomena to play, but they're not really doing anything at the moment. How about Japandroids or Titus Andronicus? Both have new albums out this year and are great live bands.
