Green Day/Pearl Jam/Bruce Springsteen - Possible?

Pearl Jam/Springsteen are about the 2 greatest headliners I have ever seen IOW have.

I know he isn't to everyone's taste (and I am by no means suggesting anything, I know it's too soon for him to be back!), but throw Neil Young & Crazy Horse into the 3rd slot, and you have my dream festival headliners right there! Now if only it was up to me... :-)

Sure i on the TITP forum people were saying that if Bruce Springsteen got announced for TITP he would probably headline the Second Stage up against Lady Gaga :D .

Yea i would have thought Biffy into Pearl Jam would have been a better idea , but at least during Elbow you can relax before PJ hit the stage ha .

You're right- it probably wont go down well with the majority. I'm 32 and probably a fairly "average" IOW festival goer- have been everr year. IOW tend to be fairly safe with headliners- and this year 2 of the 3 so far are likely to be perceived as "dated" or "classics" however you want to word it. I haven't seen either Bruce or Tom Petty before and TBH I'm not particularly familiar with much of their material. That's not to say I'd have preferred a more mainstream act like Killers or Bon Jovi- just because I'm more familiar with it doesn't mean I'd enjoy them more- and those 2 for instance IMHO are pretty shite.... For me though, the headliners alone so far wouldn't have sold me the tickets so I'm hoping for a good support line up. I was really disappointed with Neil Young and McCartney, so I just hope for better things from these boys. I'm certainly not going to slag them off- I honestly don't know enough of their stuff to do so....

Still, this came from nowhere today. Id agree with Manda think the younger crowd are going to think very dated headliners and avoid IOW like the plague. Elbow aren't exactly a youth act and Biffy only played 2 years ago.

Example may hold some favour but he's surely gunna be elsewhere

Wow! Tom petty!!

That will a fantastic show!!, was lucky to see him about 15 years ago in London amazing show, brilliant back catalogue, ( buy his greatest hits!)

Might not go down too well with the younger crowd, but I think next years festival has the makings of a classic!

Burnt my fingers when Radiohead looked locked on last time - once bitten twice shy - of course it could still be Pearl Jam - don't them and The Boss share a common drummer? I just think their set is a little flat these days.
