Mine is probably Gruff Rhys 'If We Were Words' - you know that experience when a song grabs you for the first time and you say 'wow, I love that' - that's what I had with that song.

Good cases to be made for many others, though - many of which have been mentioned already. Wish I'd seen Dan Mangan; think I was getting dragged to Jolie Holland at the time...

Better Written Off, The Leisure Society

I think it was this one they were playing as I (and many others) made a move to Laura Marling. I really should have stayed with The Leisure Society. They were so good and didn't deserve my desertion.

Many great songs but I will choose Treefight for Sunlight "Wuthering Heights" as it was brilliant and totaly unexpected.
