2013 Headliners

I just read the Van Halen article and this made my day :) Always wanted to see Van Halen but have never had the chance if they did decide to book them then surely it would be a bit of a struggle if they ended up cancelling their dates. Like they tend to do alot.

Because Eddie is a complete chemical toilet. Loves the drugs.

No chance Glasto would book them. Lee Roth seems to think they're overdoing the US thing. And hes right. They are. Catering to the existing fanbase when they should be going out and getting new fans. Is there a better place than at Glasto Live on the BBC?

That would be a booking that would make people turn their heads. Maybe not a headliner but maybe 2nd last? Just before Mumford & Sons like. <_<

Personally i wouldn't mind where they played but reckon they would settle for nothing less than headliners at that, it would be a different booking to Glastonbury's normal likes and i think it would go down pretty well for most people. Can't see it happening personally but i would genuinely be more than happy if they did.

Seriously, is it too much to ask for someone to just pop three names out that meet this criteria. Then we can all stop bickering (which, of course, would be dreadful - this thread has been hilarious today).

This is all getting too extreme for my liking. Can someone please suggest a band that meets the following criteria (and let the Eavii know):

1) From a safe lower-middle-class background (you know, three-bed semi, small garden, goes Eurocamping for holidays, drives a one-previous-owner Vauxhall Cavalier)

2) Went to a suburban comprehensive

3) Have at least THREE commercially successful albums (ideally increasing in sales but reducing in quality in order of release - even better have started work on a fourth, atonal record that will completely split opinion)

4) Get played on Radio 1, but not by Grimey in the morning, and Radio 2, but only if they're live "in session"

5) Have played Glastonbury at least 4 times before, so we know they get it but

6) Haven't played for 8 years and shun all other festivals for fear of over-exposure.

7) Weren't born rich

8 ) or have any rich friends

9) or any friends that may have been able to pass on any potentially useful advice for how to get the band noticed (cheats!)

10) Aren't too Northern,

11) or Southern,

12) or from the Midlands

13) or British

14) or foreign.

15) Play real instruments

16) But aren't a meat and two veg guitar band

17) are making a comeback

18) but would never reform

19) and, finally, that everyone likes, admires and respects.

Liverpool

St. Francis Xavier's College is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in Woolton, Liverpool, England. Year 7 to Year 11 are male only, whereas the Sixth Form are coeducational.

Could be considered a fail, at least for the Northern bit.
