Flags - any point in going to the Pyramid?

Would like to see at least U2, but in previous years the Pyramid stage has been ruined because I couldn't see a thing. This was thanks to increasing numbers of t*ssers who thought that I'd be much more interested in viewing their football team/country of origin/unfunny slogan printed on a bedsheet, stuck on a long pole and waved randomly in front of the stage. I'm too old/knackered to fight my way into the pit at the front of the stage, so does anyone have any suggestions as to how to see the Pyramid from a comfortable distance, avoiding flagw*nkers?

Thanks

Flags were greatly reduced last year (2009 was the peak of flag crap so far) and I was suprised to be able to see the stage at various points. I wondered previously where all the noise was coming from and have now discovered that in front of the flags they keep a big triangular stage thing.

it annoys me that the people with flags think it is their god given right to appear just as the act come on stage and push their way as close to the main stage as they can. Its as if they think that because they have a flag it gives them priority position. Take your flag and f*** off to the back of the queue

last year i saw a flag that read "do i look like i care if my flag is spoiling your view" or something similar, and try as i might, i just can't help but have a tiny bit of admiration for that level of childish arrogance.

if you don't like flags, that's your bad luck i guess. my method is to get wasted enough so as not to care. it's not the flags that prevent my eyes focussing on that big stage!

i also saw a guy do that, by the Brothers bar last year. he just didn't give a damn whp saw him or who he pissed on, he was laughing his head off, though i think that was less to do with being annoyed by flags and more to do with the cider he was consuming very enthusatically.
