Join Andy Hamilton as seen on Selfsufficientish, BBC Countryfile, BBC Autumnwatch, Home farmer magazine, Wired, The Guardian, the Ecologist) the foraging homebrewer and author of "Booze for free" as he takes you around the festival site in seach of which wild foods can be eaten and more importantly which can be turned into booze.

Andy will take two workshops, one pure foraging and one home brewing/fermenting. As is Andy's style, both will be pretty laid back yet informative. The home brew/fermenting is mainly aimed at people who might have just made a kit beer or perhaps the odd bottle of wine and want to learn a bit more. You will learn how to make a simple herbal beer, how to make alchol even if you don't have or want to buy any expensive equipement and he'll also try and anwser any questions that you may have.

Andy has been teaching foraging for the last three years and has taught groups at the Eden Project, lieterary festival and up and down the country. The foraging workshop will focus on more than just wild food uses of plants and will also touch on folklore, medicinal qualities and a touch of bushcraft. It will be tied into the homebrewing workshop as we will be looking for ingredients, but you don't have to come on both.

Lunarsonic

Ambient / Dub / Psychedelic

Lunarsonic is the solo project of Mark Hasdell (the guitar and didgeridoo half of Zetan Spore). This project was started early in 2007 and combines lush psychedelic dub and chill-out sounds with didgeridoo and acoustic guitar; and forays into tribal breakbeats and occasional electric guitar. The music is inspired by the full moon over the cornish moors and the ancient woods, coastlines and hills of Cornwall where he lives.

Nik Turner's Outriders of Apocalypse

Nik Turner founding member of space rock pioneers Hawkwind brings his new band Nik Turner's Outriders of Apocalypse to this year's September Alchemy Festival as Saturday night headliner on the Liberty Stage.

Nik Turner's Outriders of Apocalypse show takes its musical inspiration from South American culture dating from 10,000 BC to 2,012 and relates aspects of this culture to the typical themes and characters of world mythology.

Like Darth Vader orchestrated by Gil Evans, the Space Jazz Funk of the Outriders pulls together the music that has inspired Nik over the years, further shaped by his journeys to ancient sites in Mexico, Egypt, and the lands of the Celts.

The Outriders brings together a core group of musicians drawn from bands that Nik has played with over the years including Hawkwind, Inner City Unit and The Nik Turner Band. This group is augmented by an array of performers bringing eclectic mix instrumentation to the music, including brass, strings and percussion. Dancers bring to life stories from across space and time.

In other news Nik will also be playing the 2011 Glastonbury Festival with a 40th anniversary celebratory group of musicians who performed with Hawkwind at that band's first performance at the festival in 1971.
