I agree with that point completly, I loved Blink182 last year and the build up and the type of bands that played underneath were all suited. From Limp Bizkit upwards was brilliant, Weezer Paramore and Blink182 to top it off.

Same for G'N'R, Biffy and QOTSA, but who on earth would suit MCR? Good Charlote? It would be such a depessing day. They would need to have some good bands undernath to even make the main stage sound medioca anyways!

Who would Sub and be on the same day?

I just really regret not going to Reading '04... 50 Cent looks like he get annihilated on the youtube videos.

MCR definitely got bottled when they played after Fightstar but I think most ammo was wasted the set before on Charlie.

haha i must be one of the only people that hant seen them yet! but i hav heard good thing accept them making the crowd sing half there set, i still dont think they are big enough to sub yet tho. i think they would be good third from top on the mcr day.

Id put 30STM under Muse everyday of the week, would be a great end to the day.

Maybe bands like You Me At Six, All Time Low, Lostprophets(Again?!), Sum 41, Billy Talent, House Of Pain!, Good Charlotte?

I could see those been tossed into the mix but thats very similar to last year! I mean its far easyier to find bands thats support The Strokes in there type of genre. Vampire Weekend, The View, Libertines (I missed out last year, I went for CC and Enter and then stayed for Pendulum because im quite the fan lol).

that would be you me @ 6, lostprphets and billy talents 3rd year in a row tho...House of pain would go down well tho in limp bizkits slot from last year .. i could see pendulum playing on the mcr day maybi 3rd down

Exactly, there dosent seem to be any flow if MCR headline! It would all just be a mix match of bands from all genres which means moving about a lot if you a festival goer. Leeds try and put acts that fit well together. Aracde Fire day last year had a very very indie sound to it all day except Dizzee Rascal who was god dam awful and i left after three songs!

He was f**king sick! Good history with R+L too could make him a potential headliner in the future. Reading was the best out of his Glasto & Bestival sets. There were mosh pits cropping up past the mixing desk. Although I was severely hammered so judgement may be skewed.

I dunno, I think it detracts from a day if there's a 'flow' of bands that suit each other. If you don't like that music then it pretty much takes a whole stage out for a whole day. If the main stage was something like MCR, 30STM, Lost Prophets, Good Charlotte, You Me @ 6 and All Time Low I'd be as far away as possible. I think festivals should mix it up a bit.

He's already headlined Global Gathering & Beach Break Live... plus subbed Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. But yeh probably V.

Offspring will need a new album out & be good to get anywhere near subbing these days. Could even see them headlining Lock Up but might be too big (feel free to disagree with me on that, but I can "imagine" them playing in that sweaty tent at night).

    • Yep, honestly this seems like the most likely option right now.
    • Agree. Also there was a lot more crossing over between stages. I know they need to put the cure, the xx and Gorillaz on the main stages but if they could have put your Blood Orange, Big Thief, Baxter Dury on Cupra and Occident with Jade and Pinkpantheress on the main stages, it would have been a massive improvement.
    • 100% THIS! I haven't quite been able to put my finger on it, but I think you've just nailed why I didn't enjoy this year as much as usual. In last years edition, the likes of Slowdive or Big Thief would have had evening slots at Cupra or Occident, instead of being shoved on to the main stages during the day. Apart from the very biggest acts (ie The Cure, the pop headliners), most performances at Mordor just lack that special "wow, I'm so lucky to be here" feeling that I remember from the Jesus Lizard and Anhoni sets that you've mentioned.  Sidenote: I wonder if there's a decent chunk of ticket holders that gravitate towards Mordor simply because it's the biggest stage, without really caring who's playing at that time, thus the increased (and incredibly noticeable) yapping.
    • Some horrible talkers around me as well for that one. Plus the mobile beer taps pressing through almost all the way to the front, which really should be illegal.
