Rather than have a series of threads speculating if the festival is happening or not (and i'm pretty sure it will happen : I don't know any more than anyone else for the record, it's just positive thinking).

Perhaps now is the right time for the annual wishlist topic, so who would people like to see on next year's bill??

I'm betting a pint of beer you see Warpaint on the billing for starters........

I'd second Race Horses they were excellent supporting Young Knives, which leads me to suggest -

Young Knives

Janelle Monae (just book her as headliner and have done before its too late)

Gill Scott Heron

Future of the Left

Badly Drawn Boy

Graham Coxon

Sleigh Bells

Wild Beasts (they've missed a year so due to come back!)

There'll be loads more that come to me but thats it off the top of my heed.

very kind suggestion, but I'm taking the year off to record the new album, let the land recover, explore new directions etc etc..

(and on a different topic, Andy's definition of obscure is not entirely in line with the rest of the world. The Pains Of Being Pure

At Heart are a good thought mind if you like that kind of thing. But I don't believe y niwl are actually a band - its just a random collection of letters)

we'd all love to see richardh return across the board......

it should be explained that i'm spending less time in leicester these days, and more time with random welsh

people in north wales country pubs, mostly the kind of people who wear thick woollen jumpers, all sound like members of the super furries and are actually all very nice people. unsurprisingly i seem to end up at a lot of the same gigs as martin carr.....

y niwl do indeed exist. (it means the fog in welsh). imagine a pile of madcap welsh, who love dick dale and surf guitars.

Anyone think the Black Keys would be possible or would they be too expensive or costly?

In my opinion there has been a dearth of good new bands this year, it reminds me of 1998/1999 for guitar music; everyone waiting/hoping for something to revitalise the scene ala The Strokes in 2000.

Thats my type of music normally, so perhaps why the SS lineup last year seemed a little bit too folk tinged for my liking, there just isn't that much good, new guitar music and probably hasn't been since around 2005/2006.

Anyway, to add to my list:

Black Keys

Ed Harcourt (although I should probably reserve judgement until I see him supporting Frank Turner at Leicester 02 Academy)

Gil Scott Heron

British Sea Power

PJ Harvey (I can dream)

The Walkmen

Laura Marling

Foals
