'Official' tipis: anyone hired em?

Hi all,

Our party of twelve are feeling flush and were thinking of hiring 2 of the 'official' tipis at the top of the park especially as some of us aren't arriving until the Friday.

Anyone given these a go? What's demand like, and what can we expect if we get em?

Yes, some friends did in 07 at Glasto and we hired one at Camp Bestival last year. They're all supplied by Hearthworks of Glastonbury. You can check their website here: http://www.hearthworks.co.uk/

Their tipis are great as they have raincatchers which stop the water poring through the hole in the roof, but do expect some leakage around the door if it pisses down (we put down a groundsheet just inside the door which worked well in catching the drips one night and stopped them soaking through into the coir matting). We totally loved the tipi, a real special treat, but you need to be good friends as there really isn't any privacy.

The tipis at Glasto are plenty big enough for 6 people. You also get access to hot showers. If you can afford it, go for it!!

Thanks for the info mate. Two of our party have dropped out but we may still go for two tipis between 10.

We're all lads so privacy not really an issue. Any idea what the demand is like?
