NME Weekender

eFestivals was offered a huge number of tickets to give away, tens of times the number we're usually offered for ticket comps.

We turned them down, on the basis that we'd probably be giving away a prize to nothing, because it seemed so unlikely that it would go ahead if they're giving so many tickets to try and raise some interest.

Not even the NME seem to be giving it much publicity - it almost looks like their first big announcement, with the expectation of more to come, ended up being their big announcement full stop. Can someone have a quiet word with British Sea Power's booking agent to stop them agreeing to every half-arsed festival they're offered?

amusingly. after hearing about the great nme weekender giveaway from gabs, i too entered the nme compeition.

and lo and behold im the very lucky winner of 4 free tickets!!! with chalets available from £60 per person per weekend (£240 for 4).

personally i couldnt imagine many things worse then a weekend in a pontins in november. let alone the utterly awful line up.

I entered on NME.com, and got a call 4 hours later saying I had won! and my boyfriends friend who entered won as well! They are giving a lot away. I wouldnt pay full price for this festival but £60 for a weekend away with some ok bands will be ok for me as I havent had a chance to go to a festival this year due to money problems.

On the NME website though it has the list of bands (which are very average IMO) and it says underneath 'plus many more to be announced'. They are leaving it a bit late arent they? Does anyone know if there are actually many more to be announced, or have they just forgotten to delete this sentence from the webpage or something? I hope they do announce a few more, not very impressed at the moment really! But I am looking forward to Chew Lips, The Whip, and Chapel Club.

I expected better from the NME, like maybe Best Coast, Delphic, Yeasayer, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Sleigh Bells, Crystal Castles etc.

Anyone know if there are any more bands to come anyway?
