This is a weather thread, please can we talk about the weather.

I'm very happy with the looks of that ECM. It's Clay soil around Worthy, isn't it? That 'should' mean that with the new drainage system, whatever we get tomorrow/Saturday will burn up relatively fast. If it's still a little damp come Wednesday, then it should be more soft ground than actual mud-mud being churned up.

At the moment I'm feeling more optimistic than at the start of the week. The bits of positive news that we had last week were welcome, but there was no real correlation between the varying reports.

Also Metcheck is the holier-than-thou service and that's even giving us a proper forecast now that's reasonable, rather than a static 10c all weekend.

Come on guys, let's take the hit over the next couple of days and then evaporate it away with SONG and DANCE.

The BBC Glastonbury webcam needs to move to a 24/7 live stream in my opinion. It would be like a more watchable version of big brother. I'd also gladly pay and extra 20 quid on my ticket to hear a man say 'Day 290 in the festival fields...glastonbury worker #7...is 'avvin a piss'

Really? I've seen a lot of the posts here and I can't see any of those people saying "I posted those pictures for sexist reasons". Quote them for me please. Or else I'll assume it's either an outright lie or an error of interpretation.

I believe they were essentially harmless yes. Again, I can't see that many posts from people who said they were offended by them. A few posts by people saying they weren't appropriate, they didn't really feel this was the right place for them etc etc, but I can't remember anyone saying they were outright offended by them. Again, quotes please. Far more people were offended by your sweary outbursts last night. Have we had any kind of an apology from you for that? No no, that would be asking far too much I feel.

There's plenty of definitions for sexism out there Neil, plenty of good reference points on the internet these days - dictionaries etc. None of them back up what you are saying.

sadly, it's just this sort of selfish attitude of wanting what you want without any consideration of others which got things to here in the first place.

If people were as respectful as they keep saying I should always be when having to deal with some people who are lacking in all sorts of areas then things would never ever get to here. I don't go looking for arguments like these, they're thrust upon me by my position here and the behaviour of some posters here. It's not like I create them out of nothing, nor do I make these posts arguing with myself.

Some people want to say that me having to deal with such things drives people away, yet they never stop to think that I'm dealing with these things because before I intervene the actions of posters are driving people away. Here's one bunch of comments I've received, that's not untypical....

I'm fed up that everywhere I turn is populated by lowest common denominators, last place I want it is at Glastonbury.

Fairly good agreement now from ECM UKMO and GFS for next Wednesday - slack low moving through with high pressure ridge forming behind it. Remember there is still a week to go and and there is still little confidence in any of these scenarios. Things may change and anything could transpire by next Sunday
