the latest 06z GFS isn't quite as positive as last nights 18z, not looking as bad as it was a day ago though

The Euro models are now reaching Wednesday and show the a a high sitting off the west coast.

I just walked out of my front door and saw the r**n, any other time of year it wouldent have been a problem... But with glastonbury looming "that" thought passed quickly through my mind and chilled me to the bone...

Yes there is a high to the west by the wed, but let's not forget that's a week next wed - still a very long way off in forecasting terms. if it comes to pass, though, what does it mean? depends if it stays put or where it moves to next :-)

if it shifts north a bit and we end up with an unstable north westerly - by no means impossible - that was the situation on the wed and thurs of 1997 or '98. showers started then merged into the pits of a long [24 hours, give or take] heavy rainfall. i think the high will sink south or south east, because highs in that situation seem to do that quite a lot.
