Glastonbury last year I was going for my morning trip to the toilet for a clear out. In the first one I picked someone had ripped the full plastic seat and side bits off its hinges to reveal everything inside the toilet, and it was up to the brim. Def the worst sight ive seen in a festival toilet.

Basically, my only real problem was the state of the toilets. w*nkers can be avoided; a trip to the toilet after several glasses of Jagermeister and a bad pizza cannot... how you end up in one is subjective but we all suffer the same fate when we enter one...

Unless you're female. I swear to God I'm going in drag next year just to use the toilets.

the female toilets in the campsite weren't that nice. the problem was, the seat was always f**king soaking! and there were always bits of wet toilet roll all over the seat. it was more annoying knowing that girls were making the mess, the dirty bitches!

the arena toilets are always alright, cause there's so many of them.

If they banned campfires at Leeds I wouldnt bother going camping - whats the point?! The only time you should be at the campsite supping tins is after the bands have finished. And its far too cold to sit there without a fire.

Would completely kill the festival experience in my opinion. Sitting round a fire, pissed, and chatting into the early hours is half the fun!

Yeah, Sunday can get a bit mental but if you feel threatened you can always just leave the site after the bands. I'm fine spending the night getting no sleep and taking in the apocolyptic atmosphere. The worst I saw in 08 was a small mob working their way through abandoned tents and throwing them on an ever growing fire. 09 had the bizare situation where a few individuals were using a giant pole as a makeshift battering ram to bring down another flaming telegraph pole.

Howwever from what I've seen, usually if there's any sign of trouble where people are actually sleeping and still camping, security will be on it straight away.

why should people leave the site due to morons? I think your confusing festival atmospher with people being total pricks.

if people knew how to behave properly there would be campfires at every festival. Simple thing to do if anyones caught causing trouble ban them from all festivals for life.

Exactly. Well Put.

The fact of the matter is some people don't know how to behave themselves in regard to fires and sadly if it means punishing everyone by banning fires after a certain time then so be it. I'd rather do without a campfires and know i could enjoy my festival without the fear of some dickhead torching my tent.

Hi! I'm new but have been following events on here for a few years now and decided it was time to join in! I would like to say I agree totaly with the suggestion of banning fires at Leeds. We've been going to Leeds since 2007 and have never felt the need to have a fire. The close proximity of fire and tents plus the added complicaton of alcohol and drugs is just asking for trouble. If you get cold at night do what we do, put on a jumper/hoodie get into your sleeping bag, sit in your chair have a few beers and your laughing! We always have a great time at Leeds (despite the dickheads), we have our tickets for this year and are eagerly waiting for the lineup to be announced!

Fires are part of the festival for me. I know why they would ban them from the sunday night, and agree that they shhould be banned on the sunday, but I dont think they should be banned completely. After the music had finished, I enjoyed sitting around the fire for a bit before going for a wander.

to be honest the most disgusting thing in regards to the toilets were people pissing on the fence. I was queing up to go to toilet between lock up and mainstage and people were pissing on fence and when i got in to toilet area then there was loads of places to piss just took ages to get in cos amount of people if they made it wider people wouldn't piss on fence.

Hey guys and girls! First post here.

Me and the missus went to Leeds 2009 and had to leave tent, sleeping bag, and all sorts of other stuff we would have rather taken with us on the monday morning when we got caught in the telegraph pole felling/fire/mob scenario in orange on sunday night.

I know that fires at festivals are an almost iconic thing but if something like that is going to happen, i would quite happily live without them!

Either that or get in some highly trained/specialised staff to quell any problems before they get out of hand. The guys and girls who were there when we had to leave (CATs is it?) did the best they could but i couldn't help thinking that there was nothing they could really do.

I think it's digusting they banned fires. Small kneeheight fires.

They won't even let you have bbqs.

Not being funny but it's f**king freezing when you're trying to have a social after the bands, not to mention dark. Last year we split off into groups and huddled together in tents for warmth.

I'd rather have no fires than have fires and then they get out of control and you risk losing your tent or getting injured. Yes it is unfair on those who do have a fire and behave but it's a small price to pay for piece of mind really.

If your cold at night I'd advise going to the Oxfam tent, you can pick yourself up a cracking fur coat for about a fiver!:D

Any newbies shouldn't be put off by stuff on here, I;d heard horror stories after my first time last year and I was bricking it when I left the arena on sunday. I was expecting Mad Max scenes in the campsite and for my tent to be an inferno, in reality we sat there through the night with absolutely no trouble, a few cans, a small fire, a good time. Sure there's crap that goes on, but on the whole, you're fine.

Unless you are retarded or trying to make your fire out of control, it will be fine. Last year we had a fire going every single night until the early hours and every morning. As well as barbecues.

Not being funny but a group of 20+ people will want to be warm and socialise after the festival.

Would you seriously want to freeze your balls off in the dark or go straight to bed? The fire ban ruins the entire night, it's not difficult to spot out of control fires, let sensible people have theirs.

And the worst of it was, a lot of my group couldn't eat after a long day in the arena, because they had put our bbq out, it was impossible to heat up water. Stupid.
