LusciousLucy
Hey lovelies Now with erm...oh yes...a WEEK to go from the time of me writing this... I know this forum appears to be a bit quiet on the chatty front but I am going to just try and kickstart one of the other important aspects needed to ensure loveliness and lots of happiness. I have only been to the fest once myself and where Camp Strudders was last year, it is/was a great location just inside the second camping area (past the arena). Are we going to try and get a reasonable all in one place campsite going or are there disparate groups going to be out there and we just try and meet on Friday? Camp Strudders I should think will be aiming for the same location as last year mainly for access issues. Whilst I do have an AWESOME banner to help locate this camping area, I dont have ways of hanging it yet but will try and sort something for the fest. I would suggest for the mo...as in wait for replies to this thread, that folk say if they are looking for an Efests camp to get sorted or if they have one/a location in mind themselves. Full Description of decided site can come early next week once we get our heads around what we might all like to do. For noobs, there is essentially 2(?) main camping locations. One on the right and downhill and away from the markets and arena but nearer the main entrance whilst the other is past the main arena and to the side of the hill up from the Dance tent. It is the latter that I believe Efesters have headed to in the past despite the slightly longer slog from the car parks. (Its not miles though folks!) Love to you all and hopefully something vaguely sorted will come to fruition by next Monday/Tuesday. Over and out...from your friendly and helpful camp receptionist PS. you are going to LOVE the banner! Pics to come.
superdry
As always I love camping with other efesters and will probably be one of the tag alongs Tho as a BD virgin I have no idea about the site or suggestions for where to go so I'll leave that in others capable hands. FunkyDenz
I for one am hoping to camp at Camp Strudders, that is if the great man will acquiesce. I take it you're thinking of incorporating an eFest camp into the Camp Strudders structure?
5co77ie
See these threads for more info - although there will be no HORSE flag this year. /index.php?showtopic=108183">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=108183 /index.php?showtopic=130295">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=130295 Edited August 12, 2010 by 5co77ie

indisguise
Found one on another thread - hopefully the link will work http://www.I'M A DESPERATE SPAMMER.com/myfests/index.php?/topic/115956-beautiful-days-site-map/
LusciousLucy
OK...last year Camp Strudders (at least) was... hope you understand the destructions peeps.. camping area on map...check. yellow arrow in top right corner of camping zone/exit from Main arena...tick. perimeter fence doglegging below the arrow around tree...??? tented marked zone in the space directly below this fencey area... if you get to the next big tree below this area which would be on your left if coming into the field yourself...you have walked too far. That was where we were last year. Hoping to be back this year. There is a walkway alongside this chosen camping area that leads from the camping entrance up to the Tiny Tea Tent at the top of the hill (teapot symbol on map). Hope this makes sense. There will be a gang of lovelies heading there cos they camped there last year. Strudders should have his Free Range Humans and Merry Christmas flags up on a pole...and...duh duh duh...drum roll please... we should have a big banner that reads 'Strudder Street' in yellow writing on black background. I plan on hitching this big banner to the fencing with cable ties if we can. (It did read 'Strummer Street' and I lifted it from a big bin at T in the Park...wasnt going to let something THAT useful go to waste!!!) See you all next week peeps x x x
LusciousLucy
I am also guessing the SpaceHopper flag of Pinkey Roper and friends may be flying too?
5co77ie
Not that this is where Lucy means but from that map the old eFestivals campsite used to be in front of the rain drops (showers) heading down to the tree with a tent on it - I'm in a campervan now but before we moved to a vehicle there used to be around 40 tents of eFesters there every year - baring in mind many of them weren't forum users but 'green pages' readers. FunkyDenz
Thanks Lucy, I'll be at Strudder Street. Think it's time for me to invest in a flag of my own. I'm thinking that there's a chance Strudders won't be coming now, given his FB Status update from yesterday.

FunkyDenz
What time are people thinking of arriving? I'm aiming for between 12noon and 2pm.
DaveMac
Goodness where has the time gone - it BD week ! Ok this is my first BD Festival so I will be arriving as a noobie too ! Thanks for posting this info Lucy (you are a star) - I intend to arrive on site earlyish (8-9am) on Friday and will aim to find the eFest/Strudders Camp too! I will no doubt ask myeFest FB friends to assist with directions but would be grateful for any other flag or camp landmarks to look out for. Fingers crossed weather improves from crappy forecast given so far.... See you all there for a great festival experience hopefully Best Wishes Dave
LusciousLucy
Fank ewe Luke. I dont have Photoshoppy tings to play with and do exactly what you have done. You are absolutely correct. Obviously this spot does somewhat rely on someone getting there at gates open and trying to snaffle the spot. I havent had a chance to sort anything with travel and arrival yet myself but will be there by lunchtime somehow I should think with the Strudder Street banner. I bought the yellow electric insulation tape today to do the letter change on it. See you all on Friday. Life is a bit busy for me right now but will be popping into the forum when I can. Would it be ok to camp with you guys? I've never been to BD before but have been to Glasto a few times
LusciousLucy
Hi there hun. Course you can join us. The map is a teeny bit confusing in relation to how we all arrive at the event due to the orientation so more instructions to follow... All foot and car arrivals come in at the far right of the map at Escot House. I expect most folks to come in somewhere at the top of the kids field (which with the map is the bottom!) You just need to walk through this area on the left (dont go down the hill and market on the right - if its like last year, go to the left of the Insect Museum) Follow over into the arena field and when you get to the camping area exit at the far left top of field (Hope Tavern will be on your right), turn left out of the arena field and head directly up the hill and past the big tree behind the Harris fencing. Don't go onwards as if on to the Dance tent. I believe we are arriving nice and early now (thanks Fairies4Change ) so should have the Strudder St banner attached to the fencing in time for early arrivals. I hope the forecast rain isn't too bad for Friday. Can't wait to see you all.

Oddone
Looks like I am in a layby then sleeping!!!! Also on another note I have make a 2 metre sign. NOT a flag. I hate flags. Ill carry it round during the day with words on it. Friday is Free Hugs day I also for a laugh knocked up a Camp Efest sign to help peeps locate the tents when we fist get there. I know its a bit poo but it gets the job done. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Pinhead
"All foot and car arrivals come in at the far right of the map at Escot House." - is that where the lake is: So we all drive in from the lane coming from Fairmile that crosses the A30? http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=308226&y=98114&z=0&sv=EX11+1LU&st=2&pc=EX11+1LU&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf
