Hmmmm, i just always assumed that they would, they headlined Reading and Isle of wight,

Where do you think they could play?

They headlined IoW ten years after they'd had any real success.

Have they headlined Reading? From memory I'm not sure they have.

If they headlined Reading, then around the same time they weren't headlining other fests - I remember snapping them from the pit at TitP in around 2003, and they defo weren't headlining.

In the last couple of years they've had The Prodigy, Franz Ferdinand, Pet Shop Boys, Flaming Lips and Massive Attack headlining the Other, are the Strokes much bigger over here than that lot?

Ahhh, they did headline Reading/Leeds, in 2002.

And I'm mistaken, they were headliner at T (it was 2004). They also headlined V that year too.

But they were back at T in 2006, as sub-headliner.

They've done nothing since to warrant rising up the bill again tho.

Other stage headliners feels about right tbh. Agree with Neil on his assesment of their career. Made a big splash, done ok since then but not up to the same level. First Impressions of Earth was pretty drab and way too long.

It'll make my mates happy, but I'll steer clear. Seen them a few times and it's always just been pretty boring. They just stand on the spot staring at the floor, playing their songs through. You could honestly have cardboard cut outs and play the CD over the PA and from the back of a festival crowd you wouldn't be able to tell.

Tell a lie actually, they really brought it as Benicassim in 2006. But the week before at Wireless they gave one of the worst live performances I've ever seen.
