Eden Festival 2010

[Eden festival]

The 2010 Eden Festival will take place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of September in a fantastical new garden of Eden... the Raehills meadows, Nr Moffat , Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

The whole aim behind the festival is to provide a 3 day celebration of music, dance, colour, culture and community built on an ecologicaly sound and carbon friendly set of principles and to exhibit live music hand in hand with stunning decorations and surroundings.

Looks like we'll be bringing an acoustic session space, a warming woodstove and some fine musicians to enhance the Weirdigan Cafe experience... we'll be in the new 'Green Field' area where there'll be solar and wind-power, workshops, kids' stuff and acoustic music with the odd bit of cabaret and impromptu performance thrown in... So yeah, we're looking forwards to it too

There was a bit of a Mix up with Gil Scott-Heron but not to worry guys he is all confirmed now.....

As for car sharing theres a link on the website about car sharing might be easier to find people for you car from there!

Hope everyone is all set for a fantastical 3 day celebration... not long now.....

I understand an explanation is due...

One of the artists booked turned out to be booked through a dodgy agent in America who has kept the deposit money. This artist was Gil Scott-Heron. We have then approached the true agent through the label and Gil is now reconfirmed. During this time (about 10 nervous days) we had to withdraw his name from the line up (we took the line up off the site) and use the old posters we used back in May before Gil was confirmed (only used at Wickerman Festival and for a couple of postal tubes).

Sorry for any confusion this has caused. We have been up front and completely honest to anyone that has asked. This is a rare situation to be in and for a group of enthusiatic non business volunteers setting up a festival has been an expensive learning curve.

We hope you havent lost your confidence, if anything you now know you will atleast get our honesty about any failings and an ability to hold up our hands when things dont swing in the favour.

In this case we are lucky that we managed to resolve the situation with said act (Gil Scott-Heron) and he is coming to Eden... .....along with 132 others..........

Nice one llcoolphil, always good to know what the feedback is . Have had quite alot of folk asking at this end so maybe a public statement on the website would have been clearer for folks.

Its on, he's on, things really taking shape at this end and we hope to see you there!
