ceph
Never heard of any but if nothing else is on I'll check them out
Ed Leaf
Black carrot won't sound like anybody else at SSW, which is a good reason to go and see them. Imagine David Thomas and the Magic Band playing Miles Davis. But from Market Harborough.
andyblack
it's high time Black Carrot had a slot. you'll never find anyone in Leicester with a bad word to say about them. these furrows are doing really well at the moment, and charlie jones and her band finally get a chance to play the festival in their full arrangement. i know very little about souvenirs and doing the dog (despite having a utterly awful band name) are cropping up on a lot of festival lists now. SweepingTheNation
"OKAY!We can announce our verry, verrrryyy special headliner. In an insane world exclusive, Jose Gonzalez will be playing with his band JUNIP!" This is an interesting new definition of 'very special'. It's not even a 'world exclusive', they're playing festivals in Barcelona, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Sweden plus a US tour before Summer Sundae. And as far as I can tell it's some distance from 'insane'. And weren't they making a big thing of announcing headliners on Wednesday? (Although Sean's link says they're playing the Sunday, so I'm confused now) Edited April 19, 2010 by SweepingTheNation
Ed Leaf
Excellent! A return of the music for people that don't like music. Can I request a MES invasion/duet now?

Rob ic
SORRY. Twitter twittered wrong. Junip is a UK festival exclusive NOT World. And Junip (featuring Jose Gonzalez) will play the Sunday afternoon. Not headline!
Joe-
JOSE GONZALEZ?! OMFG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've waited so long to see him! Woooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Joe-
Wait is he doing solo stuff? Or is he just with Junip?
SweepingTheNation
Just with Junip, it seems, but Junip is pretty much Jose Gonzalez' usual style with extra keyboards and drums. He's played Summer Sundae twice before on his own.

andyblack
Dog Is Dead are a great young band from Nottingham. They are a four piece including various brass instruments and certainly play an uplifting tune or two. Excellent. Looking forward to the announcements at the end of the month... eFestivals
More acts announced here tomorrow at 8:30am. 19 acts I think it is, something to get your teeth into.
SweepingTheNation
Out of interest, does that include the DiS stage bands? It almost certainly won't be James headlining, as I thought might be in contention, as they've just announced a DMH gig of their own. Much as I'd like to tell you more, I feel I've already said all I can about the embargo'd press release that we have, and even what I've said might be more than I should have. (And no, there's really not any clue or suggestion within what I've written there - there's nothing to be read between the lines).
