This was obviously in Oct/Nov 2013:

We’re basically taking a bit of a break – the gigs we have coming up are the last ones for a bit really, and then after this the band’s not going to be playing live for a year or so, to give us a chance to do the other side projects we do like 2 Bears and About Group, and work on the new record. So yeah, these are the last gigs for a while and then we’re going to get back into the studio properly in the second half of next year and make another album.

In an ideal world, Hot Chip and Yeah Yeah Yeahs would have joined Arcade Fire as the new generation of festival headliners by now. This is not an ideal world. We have Kasabian. I hope Karen O turns up randomly and punches the mouthy singer.

I agree none of their album are particually engaging from start to finish.... well excluding 'One Life Stand' which I think is a very consistent and accomplished album as a whole.

They're great fun live though, their songs translate well live and they are clearly having fun on stage and that rubs off on the crowd. And by being a singles band you get a lot of songs on their setlist that really get the crowd going... especially at festivals where the are likely to be a lot of casual fans.

    • I f**ked up and bought a car park ticket for sunday, got it delivered to my old address. Will I be able to buy a pass on the gate? Thoughts on muddyness from 0-10?
    • I am as well not a fan of these side by side stages. too many people at the same places and you have always people around you who wait for the other stage...
    • If only they could get the Bits area back (and add maximum 5k capacity) the site would feel less crowded.
    • Blame it on the side-by-side setup. There are cases where it works well - got a great location in front of the middle screen for Bexter Dury-Big Thief-Little Simz, just had to move about 20 meters each time for a great location. But on most cases it sucks
    • was happy to swerve the main stages on Saturday, but thought it was fine for The Cure, we just went down the opposite side & got a decent spot close to the front, everyone into it (admittedly a bit off to the side)   a festival that now books Olivia Rodrigo as a surprise set isn't going to get any smaller, for better or for worse it is miles apart from when I was first going   personally I still find the people amazing, never have any hassle & the line ups are always so strong & diverse.  We will definitely return for the 25th anniversary next year!
